[FONT=Helv][SIZE=2]I have an installment loan with Check N Go in Alabama in the amount of $2100. I have made one payment of $648. I have 5 payments of that amount left before I am done with this horrible loan. I am in a bind and cannot make these huge payments anymore. I talked to the store and basically I get hit with a $12.50 charge every day I'm late. They told me once this leaves there store and goes to the corporate office that they will file a law suit against me or wage garnishment or both. Basically I'm looking for advice on what my options might be here or anyone who has been through something similar. I am hoping there is something I can do to hold them off until August until I receive the money to pay off the loan in full.

Did you do all the paperwork on-line or did you walk in the 'store'? This 'installment loan' sounds like a place, called Cash Call (they are in California). Do you pay them once a month? I'm not really an expert in this kind of thing, .,but..I just wanted to let you know that your requst wasn't being ignored. :) There are alot of experts that will get to your post shortly to help you. Just hang in there!!

I don't work for any PDL, I run my own. The storefront lenders are regulated by the state in which they operate and therefore have rules to follow. You can see from this forum that almost all complaints that people have are with online lenders, not licensed lenders. The unfortunate part is that we, the licensed lenders, get lumped in with all of the junk that illegal lenders are doing. In fact, most of the "complaints" about storefront lenders are due to an overzealous employee that will not be around long or due to an individual borrowing from too many places and getting in over thier head. Very seldomly do you hear of a legitamate complaint or do the state DFI's receive complaints. Some of the state DFI sites will even list the number and nature of any complaints received and the number is a fraction of those received from banks and other types of lenders.

Good question!
