Collection Guidelines

I would like to know if there are guidelines for requesting partial payment from debtors. For instance, the amount owed is $1,000 and the amount required from the collector was 10% per month ($100;00). Is this the norm? Or is it up to each collector??

When you are in collections, your entire balance is due in full. Any payment plans are completely up to the collector, company policy and the client requirements.
