hello, my name is Rob and after finding this forum a few days ago and doing some reading of other posts i have decided to take the advice given by everyone. first i tried to contact my A.G with no response then i came ehre, since i live in NY i have found that all of these pay day loans are illegal in my state which makes them null and void. I wish i found this site sooner but anyway so i took everyones advice and spoke with my bank today and have since closed that account and started a new one. they were actually very helpful and have apparently dealt with these companies on numerous occasions. so now that i have closed my account here is a list of the lenders i have used

TLCFASTCASH.com ammount borrowed $200
ammount payed $790

onceclickcash.com ammount borrowed 350
ammount payed 725

advancemetoday.com ammount borrowed 300
ammount payed 360

i have to loans with loanshoponline. one i borrowed 150 and another i borrowed 250 ammount paid total for 2 loans is 450..

so now that i have taken the first step which was to close my account what should i do know. write C&D letters or do emails work. should i tell them why its closed or leave it at that? i need all the help i can get but it already feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders

so after posting this email i contacted tlc fast cash and after about a half hour of arguing through customer service tickets where they were suprisignly on the defensive about the situation they have agreed to do away with the loan but will not refund overpayment of principal which i take as a win as i did not actually expect a refund.. 1 down 4 to go

I think you should have pushed for the refund and threatened them with AG and FTC complaints. That might have worked. Anyway, try this bit on the other 3 lenders and see if you can squeeze them. As for the lender you have already settled with, file complaints with the FTC and the AG. Not getting a reply from the AG office is not the same as them ignoring you so you need not worry about it.

As for the C&D letters, no point sending them to the PDLs since C&D letters are only meant for collectors, not the original creditors.
