I can't find the original post I posted on regarding PDL debt. You responded to me earlier this morning. i am the lady from New York in PDL debt. I emailed one of the companies (payday2go) and told them that it was illegal in New york. A man called me and said it is only illegal for storefront, not internet and he said he will contact my employer and garnish my wages - because I agreed to it in the signed contract. Can they really do that?

Hello All, I have not heard from anyone today. I did get a one unknown phone number on my cell phone, but I didn't answer. I filed all my complaints with BBB...this is one email I got from BBB. I sent complaints to all the companies I owe.

Your complaint has been applied to the following business:
One Click Cash
2533 N Carson St Ste. 5024
Carson City, NV 89706

The case has been reviewed and has now been forwarded to the company for its response. The company will be asked to respond within 14 days, and if a response is not received, a second request will be made. You will be notified of the company's response when we receive it (or notified that we received no response).

Hello, I heard from Nationwide/Ambassador. This is what she said..

"That would be fine,I can set you up for the 600.00 on 11/1 though your checking acct??"
Sincerely

I told her in my initial email to her that I was willing to pay the principal loan amount and since I already paid $120...I only owe $480. She responds with the above information asking for the full $600. I emailed her back and said no, I will only pay $480 and not by a checking account. Havn't heard back from her yet.

gina, do not give them one dime over what they loaned you. And they're damn lucky to get that. Pay the principle amount only. And if you can't pay it all at one time, by God, tell them you will make payments. Pay with money orders & have them give you a physical address to mail the payments to. These pdls.... Good Grief!

Thanks for the advice...I am not paying them anything over the amount borrowed. They think they are slick...they probably tried to debit my bank account and saw that it was clossed...that's why she wants me to pay with a checking account so they can get my new information...no sir buddy....

In fact, I didn't open another banking account. Because I was struggling financially - I bounced a few checks here and there....I ordered a prepaid debit card by Western Union - they waive the $4.95 monthly fee if you use direct deposit. From now on - I will only spend money that I have...

This is great...They have accepted my offer of only paying the initial amount borrowed. Now I am going to ask them if I can do it in two payments.

gina, Liz apparently "missed" the point. Now, moneygram costs to send. Why the hell are you going to spend the extra money (and I think it's high!) to money gram her payments? I'm certainly glad she agreed to your amounts and your payment arrangement; however, there is no need for you to pay the expense of sending money grams. Good Lord. Can you email her back and thank her for the payment arrangements, but not with money gram as that is an added expense to you? She can either deduct the amount of the money grams from what you owe or she can provide you with an address to send money orders to.

Good for you, gina! Be firm with them. They don't like to cough up a physical address. However, if they want their money, they'll give you one. OR they can deduct the cost of the money gram from your amount due. Let them pick whichever one they want. Monsters.

I heard back from Liz...this is what she said...Now what do I say. I can pay with a credit card (which is a prepaid debit card) if I have to - but i don't want them to make debits from it without my consent. Not sure if they will be able to.

Dear Ms Hill
No I cant deduct the amt of the money gram from the settlement offer. We don't accept mail in payment, We only accept credits card and money gram.

Gina, I would fight until I got an address. Tell them you have no credit cards, no checking account. If they continue to not give you one then,
I actually would send them the money gram less the cost. I will bet a zillion dollars they accept it. They can not continue to bully you.at this point you are willing to pay them, so do it in a way that is best for you.

I had actually sent the response below to Liz before I received the address. If they are willing to accept moneygram with the fee deducted, then fine. If not, then I will use the address provided by Goudah and send them a money order in the mail.

Liz, I don't have any credit cards and I am literally living from paycheck to paycheck. I am willing to pay the $480 in two payments but I can not pay the fee. I just don't have it. It will be a financial struggle just to pay the $480. But since I borrowed it, I want to clear my account and pay what I owe. I am willing to do moneygram, but only by deducting the fee of $9.95.

gina, Liz is a nut job. Basically she's saying she doesn't want any damn money! To me, if they want their money back, they would cooperate in some way. Saying "no" to every offer you give regarding making payments is just nuts. Send the money orders and tell Liz to "kiss it". My God. I just can't believe it. You have to BEG them to take money!

Cannr, you are right! Liz is nuts...I have not heard back from her since I sent my last email....I will let you all know what she said....regardless of what she says - I am only paying back the principal amount borrowed (no moneygram fees). I am willing to spend 99 cents for a money order.

Here is the response to BBB from United Cash Loans. What does this mean? My account should be closed - I have overpaid them by $158. It looks like they still want me to pay $332 and then they will mark my account PIF. Let me know if I am reading this wrong. Also let me know how to respond. I am confused by this statement "This is contingent that no other previously paid debits are returned on this account by her bank unpaid." Thanks.

Mr. Wade:

This was (name removed) 5th agreement with us, and we believe she was well aware of our terms and conditions.
At the time of the application the terms and conditions were presented and she had the opportunity to print them at that time. She had to answer a question whether she understood the terms before we could even receive the application to process. In addition, there was a 48-hour time frame the customer could cancel the agreement without incurring a fee. Before each debit we sent an account summary, which explained the terms once more, and all of the options for repayment. This form was emailed at least 10 days before each debit; it also included our customer service number to ask any additional questions. We also have a direct email link on our website to answer any inquiries. If the customer had wanted to avoid additional fees, they needed to pay the full amount due on the first debit due date, which was in the original contract, as well as the account summary emailed to the customer very shortly after the funds were placed in their own account, for their own use, at their request. The original loan documents can be faxed directly to the customer once we are given a fax number to send them to.
The account is currently in collections due to the last debits being returned by the customer. Her current balance in collections is $332.00.
In an effort to assist this customer, we will write off the remaining balance and close this account permanently. The balance is now zero and her account is closed. This is contingent that no other previously paid debits are returned on this account by her bank unpaid. This also includes any credit card payment made that may be returned. If this occurs, the full balance will be reinstated, in addition to any amounts returned on account. We do not feel any circumstances warrant a refund on this account, and no refund will be given.

Respectfully,

Compliance Department

This is 500 fast cash's response to the BBB. I only only owe them $245 because I have paid them one fee for $105. They are lying saying all payments were returned...I am looking at my bank statement now....My Goodness I have had 8 loans in the past with this company....I must have paid them thousands and thousands of dollars in the past. How do I respond. Thanks.

RE: Case# (personal information removed. cannr)

Ms. Rose:

We have researched the account belonging to (name removed), this was her 8th agreement with us, and we believe thru recorded communication with her, that she understood all of the terms and conditions. She received the funds on 08/15/07 and has paid zero towards this amount deposited to her account, all debits from have been returned by her bank. We believe all the terms and conditions were followed in this customer's account.
We will offer a one time reduced balance offer of the $350.00 deposited amount until 11/15//07, this MUST be paid via Moneygram, instructions as follows:

Moneygram (available at most Wal-Mart's)
Pay To: 500Fastcash
Receive Code: 4308
City/State: Miami, OK
Account: Compliance/12445539 (must be on receipt)

We have stopped all scheduled debits on this account, if the reduced balance is not paid by the above date, the full balance and terms will be reinstated per the contract.

Respectfully,

This is the response from oneclick. I am willing to pay this because I did make one $150 payment on a $500 loan so I am willing to settle for $350 but I can't pay it by 11/9. How do I respond....I can make two separate payments of $115 and one payment of $120 every other week starting 11/15 (which is my next payday). How should I respond. Thanks.

I just re-read the response from United Cash Loans...I think they are closing my account and marking it PIF as long as they do not get any returned debits from my bank for previous payments. do I need to get anything else from United Cash or is this the only proof I need. (what they sent to BBB)
Thanks.

I emailed 500 fast cash and told them I will only pay the $245...because I made one payment of $105 on 9/6. They continue to tell me it was returned. I have the bank statements up until it closed and it was not returned. This is what he said..

The debit was returned, the arrangements stay as stated (no money orders, no reduction for mg fee, and must be paid by 11/15), if you choose not to take them, then the account will continue in collections for the full amount.

What do I say now.

Your acount is closed correct? They can no longer debit frm the account you sent the 105.00 from Correct. Does your statement show that the 105.00 was paid? Is there anything you can send them showing that it was paid and was not returned? If that account is closed anyway, it really does not matter what proof you send them. They can not go in and take more money

I heard back from Liz...I am so happy I found this website...I am clearly on my way to becoming PDL free! I'm still waiting to here back from Paycheck Today and Payday2go. This is what Liz said after I told her I will only pay moneygram if I can deduct the fees.

Sorry,It took so long for me to get back you. That would be fine

gina, you're getting responses, which is a good thing! Let me just point out here (because I have a terrible distaste for any MTE related company) that the responses they are giving the BBB are their usual "form" responses. They will say false information in their responses. They will say you are "confused". God, I love that one. However, do NOT stress over scraping up the money, making sure it's there on that exact date, etc. I'm not telling you to blow them off. By all means, pay what you borrowed back. But for them to claim that if they don't get 8 million dollars by such&such date, they are going to then want the "full amount of $800". Give me a break! These guys are all unlicensed/illegal pdls. And they are making demands that if not paid by an exact date via moneygram will increase your amount due by a few extra hundred dollars is out of this world. Personally, and this is just me, I would fire back to the BBB in a response that they are not licensed/legal to even lend to you. Period. However, I would continue to state that you are willing to pay the amount deposited only to consider it paid in full. I mean, come on. I'm certainly not telling you what to do, but I would not hesitate to repeat over and over that they are not licensed/legal to do business in the first place. They are totally breaking the laws here and then demanding that you pay them by a certain date or it will "go into collections" and the amount due will be higher. Excuse me? This from an illegal company? But, honestly, I'm just venting here. I guess this is why my MTE's didn't "settle" with me. I kept firing back they are not legal. They would not accept the fact that I had already paid them back (plus some) and wanted more to consider it "settled". No. Wouldn't do it. Call me stupid. I don't mind. But I wouldn't break my neck and scrape up money or neglect my "real" bills to be sure they got their money back at their demand. Like I said, just my opinion. But I do so wish that you would - when responding - point out that you are willing to pay (if you are) but yet state again that these companies are unlicensed/illegal companies.

I here ya Cnnr! I have more good news....Well, I got a response from BBB and Nationwide is willing to make me an offer of 400. That is way better than Liz's offer and actually less than what I really owe. I owe Nationwide $480....I am not complaining I will take $400. I am calling Mr. Blake/Nationwide in the morning and arrange two $200 payments with him. I am so happy I found this site....I remember when I first came here I thought I was going to lose my mind with all thes PDLs, and now I see they are accepting payment arrangements on my terms and excluding those stupid rollover fees. This is awesome! Thanks again to all!
