cash advance

I just got an email from a company called cash advance and asked them to send me more information including a copy of the document they said I owe them money to. I hit reply on the email and the email address was the following
federal securitiesbureau@washingtondc.com.
I thought this was odd
The email with a PDF attachment did not have any address on it.
What do you think is this a scam. When I called this guy back who said he was in the legal department I asked him for more information including the original loan agreement, he refused and said he would take the next step.
He said his company name is cash advance when I called them which was hard to understand they said it was cash advance usa
Really???
