Hello all. I just wanted to let everyone know that I called the CFSA today about The Cash Store DBA Cottonwood Financial. I was told they weren't members of the CFSA by the store manager but seen on the member list on the website they were. I called to verify and the lady I spoke with said they recently withdrew their membership. They paid for the year but no longer are a member. I wanted to share this information with everyone.

She informed me to call corporate and speak to a DM to set up arrangments.

Have a great day.

Yes. I was surprised and it didn't make sense to me since they were listed on the website. I called them to file a complaint against The Cash Store since I asked for an EPP and they didn't allow it and told me they weren't members. Much to my surprise when I called the lady I spoke with told me they were but then looked again and said they paid their membership but recently withdrew membership.

I am still going rounds with the manager and its not going anywhere as interest accrues daily along with the one from PLS. The other one I have I just spoke to today and said I owe 730.00 and it will go to collections tomorrow. I told her I wasn't able to pay anything until Dec 10 and she said then I will owe 799.00 and I would have to come in, put some money down and make arrangements but would have to issue a new check and told her I wouldn't do that so now its going to collections since I am not comfortable issuing another check.

I am also curious as to why the loan from PLS and The Cash Store haven't gone into collections since it has been a month now. I just want to get out of this mess and am seriously considering a debt consolidation company as I won't be able to just pay what I took out since one company already said it doesn't work that way.

Are you planning to wait until it's turned over to a collection agency? If you are, just make sure you understand your rights when it comes to a 3rd party collector. Read the link below so you will be prepared on how to proceed if it does come to that.

And remember, don't admit to owing a debt over the telephone, request a letter of collection via the mail, any agreements should be in writing BEFORE you hand over any money or agree to any payments.
