Hello again just wanted everyone to be aware that not only are the heavy think accent men calling but now they have woman too. Just got a call from some woman couldn't understand her name but said I had made payment arrangements with Officer David Hunt and never paid. Of course not but this was over 2 months ago and she threatended the same thing court cost arrest warrant and so on. I told her if she called my work phone again I was filing charges on her. Needless to say this upset her so she started going off and as always wished me GOOD LUCK after that I hung up on her. Funny when a real American collector calls you they never wish you luck. PLEASE TO EVERYONE OUT THERE DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY FILE THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE AND HOPEFULLY ONE DAY WE CAN STOP THEM FROM ROBBING THE POOR PEOPLE THAT THEY SCARE INTO SENDING THEM MONEY. HEAVEY ACCENT NO MONEY ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CAN'T TELL YOU THE NAME OF THE PDL.

They have already violated FDCPA by stating the word 'Officer'. File cases against these people with your local police authority, the FTC, the BBB and your states' Attorney General office. Tell them over their face that you're going to file case against them. Also try to notify their names and numbers to your states' Consumer Affairs and banking departments.

Thanks for sharing, you can file a police report if you like, not sure there's anything they can do though. I would contact my telephone or cell phone provider and make them aware of this incident, provide a phone number where the number was calling from, also date and time you received the call. Keep a journal of these incoming calls from now on, date, time, name of representative (if possible) and jot down what the conversation consisted of. Better still, if you are in a one party state, you might want to record these calls. If it continues, all this information will provide you with just cause to request a phone number change at no charge (that does vary depending on the phone provider).
