There is always the possibility of you getting sued.
It does require a bit of effort on the creditor's parts.

Here's some questions to ponder;
1. How much did you originally owe them?
2. How long have you been paying on the balance?
3. Are you current with them?
4. Have you reseached the forums to find out if this creditor is lawsuit happy?

Some creditors such as crap one and discover-my money are quick to threaten lawsuit and they do sue.Others threaten as a form of intimitdation.

I can tell you that from my experience that none sued me.
And I was $84k in credit card bondage and most settled at 130-150 days.
