Dealing with Unlicensed Payday Lenders (step by step)
they are licensed in the state of delaware ONLY. my home state (nj) states that internet payday loans are governed by nj law. actually payday lending in my state is illegal. i just found this out. i am dealing with them right now. i actually rejected their offer as well and told them that the laws of nj govern me. the loan was signed in nj via the internet. delaware has new lending laws that just took effect 1/1/13.
Is there a site to see if the following PDL providers are legal in North Carolina? Plain Green Loans, Payday Max, Northcash, Cash Transfer Centers, and Ameriloan. I have existing loans with all of them
I forgot to mention............I did close my checking account however Spot On Loans continued to try to pull the interest charges..............my bank paid them and made my account negative even though it was closed. I had to fight with them to reverse the interest charges Spot On Loans put through. Fun.
Make sure your Bank understands you want it CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad I took your advise and I sent an email to Spot On Loans. I spelled out in my letter that I am only obligated to pay back the principle because they are not licensed in my state (Ohio). They sent me an email back stating that my loan would be paid in full for $190 because of all the interest I had already paid. I originally borrowed $800 and would have needed $1,040 to pay them off. THANK YOU
I want to know is cash in a wink and netpdl legal in the state of wa
I am in WA state and also have a loan from AMT, I have not sent them the letter yet but plan on doing so this coming friday. I am bummed that they are being a pain in the arse because I too have overpaid them and was hoping they would just write me off. I would suggest a cease & desist letter sent to them. I don't know how long they have been calling you but maybe after a while they will give up. I have a question, did you close your account and did they try to process the payment? Which bank, I closed mine with BofA last week and hope they honor what they said about not letting any ACH go through,
i have followed the advice on here about revoking ach debit i have sent 5 emails and today i recieved an email from cinitrix on behalf of eastsidelenders. she has made an offer and i have refused it i offered principal only on my terms she said no and will turn me over to a 3rd party collection agency I have had several payday loans with them they have earned tons interest off of me. I have told her to calculate that and use it towards this loan. she says no. I told her they have a desist and refrain and they are illegal. she replied about there law in deleware. Now what should i do
I currently have multiple internet payday loans, I was living and working in the state of CA when I took them out however I am now in AZ. Below is the breakdown...
Castle Payday - borrowed $500 (Paid $1301)
Bottom Dollar Payday - borrowed $400 (paid $694)
My Next Pay Day - borrowed $500 (paid $225)
One Click - borrowed $300 (paid $625)
Are these internet based payday loans legal? I have already opened up another bank account and am looking for some guidance on how to get rid of these loans. I have ready many of the helpful posts on here and it sounds like I am only responsible for the principal amount; is this correct?
Thank you for any advice!!!
I have several pay day loans and I live in the state of maryland where pay day loans are prohibited, but some companies are changing the name from pay day loans to lines of credit. Does this change from an illegal pay day loan to a legal line of credit when they advertise as pay day lenders.
I live in Texas. We have several payday loans. Payday One, Check into Cash, Cashnet USA and Hydra. Are they all legal, especially Hydra? I can not get any information from Hydra and I am trying to make payment arrangements with each and everyone of them. Thank you for all the information.
