A friend recommened this site to me.I live in Mississippi.I have had three payday loans for about a year now. They are all store front.I have been renewing these loans for about a year.I started out with one but then I had to get another one to pay the first one. Then I needed the other to pay the seond one.The third one has not really been a problem. The lady usually lets me get by with paying just the fee.But because my hours have been cut back I am not able to keep this going. The company where I work is talking aboy shutting the doors in November if they cannot find a buyer.I have heard scary stories about what can happen if I defualt on these loans.I don't want to go to jail and being a single mother I just don't know how i will be able to keep this up.Money is tight now and with me not knowing if I will have a job much longer. I didn't mean for it to happen.I am so stressed out.I think about this constantly day in and day out. This is not my only debt but I think I would do alot better if I could get out from under these payday loans.

Welcome...I am posting the laws for your state Mississippi (just select your state). Most store fronts do stay within the law and that's why it's so important to be up front with them. Call and explain you can not keep this up and see what kind of arrangements you can make. Some time they will not make arrangements until you default on the loan...which means you would have to stop paying first...at least then I hear, the fee's etc. will stop and you will just be paying off the loan. If you can tell us which ones you have someone here may be familiar with them and give you more insight.

No one will put you in jail so please don't worry about that!!

First thing is to know that you have come to the right place. I won't repeat anything that morningstar has already said. Just wanted to let you know that alot of us have been in your shoes and we either made it through it or continue to work through it. We can be your sounding board and offer advice on how we have dealt with them. I will ask if you want to post who you have the loans with, how much they were originally for, how much you have paid so far? and please indicate whether they are store front or internet based loans? Some one will come along and help you with each of them shortly. We have a real good crew here who will go above and beyond to help you. In the meantime, welcome and know that you have come to the right spot. goodluck.

Nice to meet you Donna! You took the first step-asking for help-congrats!! Ask for a free consultation-it doesn't hurt, the people are nice & they'll tell you your options.

We have a great community here as well, so ask us questions. Someone here is bound to have an answer & get back to you pretty fast!
