Would like to share my good news with everyone today. Back in April I made the mistake of taking out two IPDL, one was ameriloan which I had actually applied for the other came from some place called EZLoansByNet, they deposited 300.00 into my account I had NEVER had any contact with these people and had gotten no agreement or even a username and password so I could log into their website to view anything. Well.....when I realized they had depsoted the money into my account I emailed them and told them to take it out at once, but they didn't and I got no response from the email at all they just continued to debit 75.00 every two weeks. I tried calling all the time and always received a recording with NO call back from them. After they had taken a total of 300.00 out I revoked authorization and sent it by email, and fax. I tried sending them a letter certifified but it was came back return to sender, seems they aren't even located at the address they have on their website. So anyway it goes without saying they after I revoked authorization took 125.00 from by account, I of course had the charges reversed. Then came this past Thursday and I just knew they would hit my account again, but when I got online, first thing I see is an email from them telling me my account balance was 0.00 and I was PIF. I thought of GOD! They have taken the whole amount from my account this time, but to my shock and amazement they had not touced my account. So today being Friday I checked it again and still they haven't touched it. I'm keeping a close watch on it though and I do have the email where they say I'm PIF so if by chance they try to hit it, I'll have no problems getting it back. I would recommend for someone to close their account but I just thought I would try it by just revoking authorization and letting my bank know what was going on then if it didn't work I would have closed the account. I have to say I'm glad it's worked out this way. Now for Ameriloan, I also sent them a letter revoking authorization that was two paydays ago (4 weeks) and they haven't (keeping my fingers crossed) tried to hit my account for anymore money. But on the other hand I haven't received communication from them. I had paid them a total of 180.00 on a 150.00 loan so when I did the revoking I told them I wanted my account marked PIF, but so far nothing back, they just haven't tried to hit my account. I am going to keep trying to get them to send me something saying they did as I asked. So for the time being things are working out. Wish me luck!

Oh I'm watching closely, including the paper checks. I told the lady at the bank what all I've learned on here about the practices of these places and she was very understanding and had actually heard of this site. I've kept a copy of everything I've sent out to both places and they made copies too, so if they do happen to hit my account I can get the money back and she said if worse came to worse they would close that account and open a new one, they don't allow debit to go through with a SSN, someone has to have the routing number AND the account number. So at least there if I do have to open another one, they won't be allowed to debit based on my SSN. But I will update for sure!

That is the truth! The first person I spoke with on the phone was really not very interested in helping me, it was like I was the one that was in the wrong and got myself into the mess. But when I went to the local branch and actually talked with the same one who opened my account she was very sweet and truly wanted to help me get everything straightened out.

Yep, that's the truth! That's why I always say if you are told they can't do something, just find someone else to ask. Sometimes they just don't want to help, other times they just don't know what all the bank can do.

It's always best to go in person too. That way you can sit down with someone and make them understand what is going on, and what needs to be done.

Scooby - I'm very happy for you that your bank is being so cooperative! That is awesome! I wish I could bank there :D

Scooby, I am so happy for you. I am glad that you told them about the paper check routine. Pollyandsay was the one who first told me about this a long time ago. She also said that if they send you a refund check to not cash it at your bank to take it to a store or something. That lady really did the hard work on payday loans. She deserves a lot of credit.
