I did get a guy who @ the bank who put a stop payment for 12 months on these companies. and was opening me a new account. My new account isn't open yet (because Iwas in the bank & they had no idea how to help me, so we called the 800 from the bank & they did it all that way (stopped payments & opened new acct).
I stopped my Direct Deposit, emailed & faxed my letters the other day & yesterday I sent my letters certified mail.
this morning, I can see that 4 have "pending" transactions coming out of my account (it should have been 5). Which is WAY negative because my DD isn't there. Can they do this like a check & still leave me negative??? PLus oweing bank fee's????
They are pending & usually look like ACH debits.......should I still be freaking out????? My bank doesn't open for another hour & I'm at work till 4 & then I have school till 930pm......and its the weekend!

Call teh 800 number for the bank. I had this happen too when I closed my account and the bank was able to stop the transactions even though they were sitting in pending. I started on a Monday with the bank and my debits were due on Wednesday. They could not guarantee stop payments but you can also dispute the charges if they go through since you revoked the authorizations.

At my bank, I showed them copies of letters and emails I sent the PDL company to stop the withdrawals. I signed a "illegal activity" form, had it notorized, at the bank and the ACHs were stopped. Additionally, the bank refunded to my account three of the past withdrawals made by the PDL company. Just stay calm and take "baby steps". Get your local BBB and state AG involved. I live in Ohio and the AG's office called me within a week of the complaint filing date.

For me it took about 45 days. Also, you might want to look up 12CFR205.10, federal regulations. The reg states that you legally can stop/cancel an electronic funds transfer up to three days before it is scheduled. Anyway, I may help your fight.

well, BOA is totally bending me over. I talked to ACH Fraud & she said the bank has to pay because its my name on the ACH. and that an ACH is different from an EFT, so I can read her that law all day long & it means nothing. she sent me out the fraud paperwork, but all the stop payments didn't stop anything. AND she told me that I shoudl better handle my finances or take out a consolidation loan to pay these people off. PLus, as of this mornign, I have 7 $35- NSF fee's; every 5 days they are not paid they add another $35 late charge (the bank does) & then this week, 2 more will hit.......
But the bank (BANK OF AMERICA)says they can do nothing, I have to deal with the merchant.
I explained the laws in my state & that they are more than paid & theat I demand no more payments be made. SHe said its basically out of their hands & good luck.
ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA?????
PLEASE helo me with BofA :(
I closed my account with BofA and they're doing the same to me :(
Please help me....

bank of america is know for being like this :( i do not know why as it is your right to revoke these charges. the best thing to do is to put a hard block on the account and than to close it. but i have heard many times how difficult bank of america is doing this. i would keep talking and asking different people. different managers, corporate, ask anyone and everyone until finally someone realizes it is illegal for them not to let you revoke their ACHs and let you go on your way.
this is not out of their hands.. they do not know what they are talking about. i am sorry this is happening to you but stay strong, they are wrong here not you.

I dealt with BofA a year ago. At the time I read everything on this forum I could about closing my bank account. With that being said, I personally recommend another route with them as they are one of the hardest banks to deal with and honesty just does not work with them. I did what I felt I had to do and I did not have any problems.
kfstaff, i agree - sometimes the less you tell them, the better.
kfstaff, i agree - sometimes the less you tell them, the better. i hate to say to lie but if you keep it simple and say fraud activity is going on (true) and that you made plans to pay them off on your own already (not exactly false), than perhaps it is better. i have no idea why banks make it so hard. i lost about a thousand dollars to one company and my bank still allowed another $300 to them!! it makes you wonder their exact relationship with the banks sometimes.
