I really need help with my payday loans. I'm noticing that all of the consolidation companies require you to close your bank account. I have been with my bank for years and am in good standing with them. I don't want to close my account. This will be hard because they offer Direct Deposit advance of up to $500 at a cost of $50 which I have had to take advantage of every pay period. When my check get deposited its already short $550 plus I have $3000 in payday loans. The fees take the rest leaving me with nothing for bills. If I close my account I don't have the $550 to make up the difference. Other banks don't offer this service and I feel hopeless. Please help me. do I have to close my bank account???

It depends on the payday lenders, if they are all store front lenders, it may not be necessary to close your account, and ACH revocation may be the solution. On the other hand, if your loans were obtained by the Internet, it will be necessary to close your account because it will never be safe again. Another option might be to speak directly with your branch manger, and ask that they assign you a new account number. Honestly, there are so many different solutions depending on your situation. We can't offer accurate advice without more information. There is a strong possibility that we could help you through this, at no charge, as opposed to paying a debt consolidation company. Besides, if any of your lenders are not licensed to lend, it doesn't matter whether you hire a debt consolidation company or not, the outcome will most likely be the same as if you did it yourself, the difference is, it wouldn't cost you anything. Please provide more info,
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

I reside in Texas. All of my loans were storefront. They are all licensed, The Cash Store, Advance America, Check into cash and Ace Cash Express.
Check into Cash 550 finance charge 112 total 662;
The Cash Store loan 800 finance charge 163 total 963
Advance America loan 800 finance charge 163 total 963
Ace Cash Express loan 500 finance charge 82 total 582

Do you know if anyone has done this with Wells Fargo and had success? Can you please give me the steps to start the ACH revocation. I'm due to make payments to all of them tomorrow on 7/9/2010. What do I tell them when they call for payment reminders.

I'm getting ready to put a stop payment on the checks. Wells Fargo's policy states that although it's not guaranteed, They will do all they can to uphold the stop payment. The stop payment will be in effect for 6 months. They also charge a fee of $29 per check. I have four. Do you recommend this? I'm trying not to close my account.
