I want to know if the following payday loans are illegal in CT.

V.I.P. loan - $400.00 I've paid back $584.50
Blue King - $600.00 I've paid back $636.00
Castle
Cashjar
Advance me today

If they are illegal what do I do? And how do I go about doing what ever needs to be done. I've read through some of the other comments and don't understand

Hi Patti,
My personal experience with 2 of your lenders is good an not so good (so far).
1.) Blue King- I had a loan with them and sent a detailed revocation and offer in compromise letter to them. In my letter I detailed the payments I had made to them, which in my case was over what the loan amount was. Informed them that I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office and that I considered the loan paid in full. One week later I received a paid in full statement from them. So, it worked and they understood.
2.) Advance Me Today. Sent the dame type letter, however they have dug their heels in and are threatening me with fraud and calling my boss. Horrible collection tactics, however I know I right.
In my limited experience, filing complaints with the AG, and a detailed revocation letter to these places is the way to go. In my letter I even put the AGs phone number for the lender to contact for any details on the stares lending guidelines. Of course these people will never call the AG, but it is good to let them know I did my die diligence.
I am a rookie here, many of the mods and experts have much better advice to give, but since I saw I had personal experience with two of your lenders I thought I would comment.
Good luck with everything, I think being honest and upfront with these lenders goes a long way.
