I have three loans, I do not want to close my bank account because I share it with my mother and she is balking at changing banks, waiting to hear from the bank if there is anything we can do to just block any thing that is not from my debit card or an actual check signed by my mother.
(and yes I am of age just taking care of my mom and got over my head, and it became a cycle)
I have three loans as following:
Discount Advances.com (these people have no wage assignment, they also have no valid phone number nor address that seems to be legit)
principal amount 420.00
Magnum Cash Advance (these ones have never sent me any paperwork on my loan even though I have requested them, they claim to have a wage assignment but I believe I did everything over the phone and didn't sign anything even electronically)
principal amount 278.00
DJR (now these guys snuck the money into my accound and I didn't realize it in time, and they have been wihdrawing 60.00 every two weeks)
principal amount 200.00

Close the account. Tell your mother it's either close it or have every penny in it wiped out every payday. I'm sure she'll come around.

can you recall how much was debited by each lender thus far.all three are illegal in IL,and not only do you owe just the principle but anything in illegal fees gets deducted from the principle.btw your mother may be reluctant, but in the long run you are wayyyyy better off as ohiogal1 is right.these places operate under the model of"debiting indefinitely"meaning any attempt to payoff will be ignored.please try to recall how much each lender debited as of now.you may be suprised at how little you do owe.

You don't have to leave the bank. Just be sure that they do not link the old and new account in any way.

oh as far as any wage assignments go.those are voluntary and revocable.also check with your HR/payroll person.alot of employers in IL will not honor a wage assignment with an e-signature,but you should get a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter to your HR/PAYROLL person asap.
