I have decided to give up my payday loans so that I can have a paycheck!

I have gone through this a few years ago with several internet ones and know how to deal with them. I have gotten a PIF from CashJar and still working with Eastside Lenders.

However, the store fronts have me scared. I live in Ohio.

I have defaulted on :
Check N' Go : $1015
Check into Cash: $550
Checksmart (who are the worst to deal with): $575 and now late fees so it is probably up to $800 by now....

I just had to re-borrow from:
National Cash Advance: $550
National Cash Advance #2: $550
Cashland: $1015

This is because I needed to pay on my mortgage that was going into forclosure and to pay on my car that was going to be repossessed.

1) I thought there were new regulations in place that would help the issue of getting multiple loans, and offering better ways to pay off the loan? I must be wrong. They have found yet another loop hole to keep consumers from being able to pay them off without having to re-loan every pay.

2) I have read on the forum several times that I cannot go to jail. But when your own bank makes you feel like a criminal for having to put ACH holds and stop payments on your account, it gets scarry!! I had to go in and request a dispute on Eastside lenders who ACH'd my account even after stating they would not. I was told by my bank that it is fraud that I am committing and they wish me luck because doing this could get me in a lot of trouble! For pointing out that someone has drafted my account without my approval???

3) I have committed to a debt management program which will be taking payments of $300 a month and distributing it to all the payday lenders. I thought this would be better than paying over $600 Each pay (2x month). However they all have told me that they do not accept debt management ... but everyone of them had taken the payment and applied it to my account??? I am just afraid now that they will all take me to small claims court and I do not need any judgments on my credit report right now...

4) I have spoken to them all and will pay them when I can. I just cannot loose my house and continue to pay over $500 a month in NSF fees to the bank. I am not getting ahead.

Thanks for listening!

I too live in Ohio. Before I came across this forum, I had given up all hope. I had 7 internet payday loans and 3 storefronts. I too have storefront loans with CheckSmart and Cashland. Thank goodness, I am completely done with CheckSmart, but am still dealing with Cashland. My experience with CheckSmart... My original loan with them was for $500. After I defaulted and with all the interest, I owed them $842. I figured out how much I could pay them every 2 weeks and then called their corporate office. The collector was quite rude, not willing to work with me, and was just mean. I told him that I could only pay $75 biweekly and to either work me or go ahead and file suit against me. He refused to accept my payment arrangement. For the last 3 1/2 months I have been sending in $75 bi-weekly. I am keeping a good record of my payments and will continue to send in my payment biweekly until paid in full. I have not heard from the collector in over 2 months and so far I have not gotten any notices that they filed my case in court.

Checksmart did agree to the debt management program payments! Cash land has been good to me. I would call the store and ask to speak with the collections department. They will give you a payment plan. HOWEVER, they typically only let you do that one time a year! (which I still think is crap!) The only one the debt management has not heard from is Check N Go which is strange because I thought they were a part of the CFSA organization....
