This response is so unbelievable I don't even know how to respond. My loan was for $700 and I have a balance of $392.

DATE: August 21, 2012

We are writing in response to your email complaint received on August 16, 2012.
GECC is a corporation that is fully-licensed as a short-term lender in good standing in the State of Delaware. GECC does not do business in Illinois, but did make a loan to you pursuant to your request made via the Internet into the State of Delaware. The loan provided was and remains legal and compliant under Delaware law. In addition, GECC remains fully compliant with all federal debt collection laws and regulations.

At Cash Direct Express (CDE), we believe in being proactive for our customers and providing all pertinent information prior to funding the loan. As a result, a prospective customer is presented with their Loan Agreement for online review. This allows the consumer to conveniently review the structure of our product to ensure they are satisfied with the service we provide and with all provisions set forth in the Loan Agreement prior to signing the document.

By signing this Loan Agreement, GECC believes the consumer has taken the opportunity to thoroughly review the terms and wants an opportunity to utilize our service. Please be advised that the current principal balance, loan fees and return fees owed on this loan is $1,038.00. Although we are compliant with all applicable laws, Cash Direct Express (CDE) still prefers to resolve these matters amicably.

Therefore, at your request and consistent with Cash Direct Express’s (CDE) policy to promote Customer Satisfaction, we are willing to accept your proposal for three (3) monthly installments totaling $240.00. We have attached a copy of an Extended Payment Plan (EPP) agreement and payment schedule for your review. If you are in acceptance of this proposal, please print, sign, and fax the agreement to 1-866-432-2736 no later than 3pm EST on 8/31/2012.
I hope this addresses your concerns. If you have any additional concerns, please contact us by either emailing us at customerservice@cashdirectexpress.com or by calling (866)432-2562 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).

I received an email reply from them right away that said the loan has been satisfied.  I would like to get a small refund.....not sure how yo go about asking.

They just really made me mad!
I do not owe what they say I owe and did not propose the amount that they are saying I owe. With the lender being licensed in DE and not IL, do the same rules apply even though its not off shore or tribal, just not licensed in my state? I think I am getting a little confused.

Peggy,

I'm not sure if you used Soaplady's letters, but I, too, have a loan with Cash Direct Express, and I sent them her letters, stating the amount that I had paid (two payments of $159), and the amount I would pay. They almost immediately sent me a letter stating that they would accept $282, which is the principal-only balance.

Maybe if you resent your email, using Soaplady's format, they will reconsider.

Before you get angry I would like to say that I think you may be misreading their reply. They say "3 monthly payments totaling $240" I think what they mean is that they are settling for 3 installments of $80 each (not 3 monthly installments of $240) considering you have a balance of more than that, that's actually not a bad deal. Call them and ask them to clarify.

good points just me,but i have dealt with this place before.the deal sounds good, but i would contact and clarify as i wouldn't trust them.if it is 240.00 total, and 80.00 increments pay only with a prepaid debit,or by money order.that's it nothing else.

I did figure that out after reading it which was what I had told them that I would pay. They now however have sent it to a Alliance Asset collection agency who have stopped calling me at work after I told them not to but are now calling me on my cell phone constantly. They never even gave me a second to send in the money and the collections people now want the full amount instead of what I had discussed directly with Cash Direct.
