Refunds?
Date: Tue, 01/22/2013 - 15:34
I live in New York State.
I have taken a number of payday loans over the past year, with 11 (!) different companies. The lenders are:
Lakota Cash
MyCashNow
SureAdvance
Liquid Cash
United Cash Loans
StarCash
CashDirect Express
Jupiter Funding
247 Greenstreet
EZPayDayCash
Plain Green Loans
The total amount I borrowed across the companies was over $9000.
That's the really bad news. The less bad news is that all of these loans have been paid in full and I have no outstanding debt to any payday loan companies. I paid almost $6500 in interest charges on top of paying back the principal of all these loans.
I am sick that I have done this, but at the time I really had no viable options.
However, reading this forum, I have discovered that all of these loans were illegal in New York.
At this point, is it worth fighting with any of these companies to get my overpayments back, or should I just chalk it up to live and learn? Has anyone been successful with any of the entity in getting money refunded?
Thanks.

Don't waste your time.
I honestly don't think anyone has ever seen a refund from one of these illegal lenders. I know I have not and I have 2 so far that are Paid In Full and have not tried to contact me for any more money. I would just use it a learning experience and never borrow from them or any other pay day loan company again. The only way they will go away is if we stop doing business with them.
This is true, but if you don
This is true, but if you don't demand the refund that you're due, you're never going to get one! They're not going to give it to you out of the goodness of their hearts!
