OK peoples, I have made a grave error, I did something a couple of weeks ago that I SWORE I would never do again, yep, I got a storefront pdl. Yeah, someone needs to tie me up and beat the living crap out of me, because I was finally out of the hole when temptation called. I didn't get this loan for petty purposes, I was in dire need at the time, it was only for $200.00 bucks, BUT, that money fed my sorry ass and helped pay for much needed medication that I otherwise would not have been able to get. I have recently been recovering from a VERY serious illness, and without going into all my private details, my Dr. prescribed medication that is VERY costly, which I can NOT go a day without. This medication is expensive. I have insurance (what a joke!) but the bone heads are making me pay for the majority of it (I hate the system when it comes to insurance but that's another story).

Now that I've given you a few short details ( well I meant for them to be short, sorry it wasn't lol ), here's the deal and the purpose for this post. My loan is due tomorrow! I don't have ANY money whatsoever and won't until Friday, soooo, I have decided to evoke the EPP on this storefront loan ( I already checked and yes they are a member of CFSA). Now I know these people are total a** holes, and I know I am in for a tongue lashing, BUT I have made up my mind that I am going to remain calm, but I ain't gonna take no crap in the form of being demeaned. My question is this, when you go to evoke the EPP, are you required to make a payment right then and there? Also, I am going prepared, I am going to record the conversation with my cell phone (just in case), that is if I can figure out how to do it! lol Advice anyone?

Shazzers as I stated in your previous post...I had a loan with Check'nGo. My payments were set up to begin the next payday and thereafter. You should be alright...I had thoughts of being berated for taking out this loan etc...however they were very nice and understanding...you may want to call them and let them be aware of your situation. You'll be alright.

kashzan I was NOT insinuating that EVEYONE is out to screw us, but I do know first hand that this particular company I am dealing with does tend to give out tongue lashings if you default on a loan. Thank you for answering my question laura. I am hoping that they will begin payments on my next pay period but I wasn't sure how it worked.

I don't think I am doing anything wrong, but I so dread going into this Store front to tell them I need the EPP to fulfill my obligation, as I know first hand how these people are, and tongue lashing is the only way to describe how they treat people. I really dread this. But, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do, so after work today, I'm going to DO it. Maybe I should call ahead. Gees I hate that I let this happen again. :?

Shazzers....just relax. From what I saw, Kash also posted som every critical info regarding EPP on your other thread.

When Kash said not everyone is out to screw us, I am sure it was in respons to your comment about the PDL being total a$$holes, which is really irrelevant with regards to the terms and conditions of the EPP.

If you want our support, you have it....the best thing you can do is just call or go down there and handle it.

Snub and shunning others? Explain. I'm not undestanding what you mean, I responded to kashzan's comment : "Not everyone is out to screw us". I'm not sure how you are taking my tone, but it certainly wasn't a snub or a shun, it was a direct response to her statement. Placing a label on me because I responded and explained myself, is hardly shunning or snubbing, is it? I would really like to know.

And I am still clueless as to where I was rude, a little label I was awarded for defending and explaining a statement which was taken out of context. Sheesh. Why are you two attacking me, re-read this thread again and show me where I was rude, and where I shunned or snubbed anyone?????

shazzers, I'll tell you what happened when I went to the storefront to invoke the EPP, okay? You have to go to the store at least the day BEFORE the loan is due. However, here is the tricky part - - They will have you sign an amendment to the loan agreement with the new payments on it (4 equal payments coinciding with your paydates) -- HOWEVER they will want that first payment the day the loan was due - which will be the day you should have gone in to pif. That is my experience with invoking the EPP. They did not wait until my next payday. It's just rather than pif on the due date, you make your 1st payment. So, you might want to prepare yourself to have maybe enough money to pay that 1st payment (50 something dollars probably). Just wanted to let you know how it worked for me. I was kind of "shocked" that it started the very next day after I invoked it; however, it made sense once I thought about it. Since I was supposed to go in and pif on the due date - it just "changed" to making a pmt on that date instead. I hope this helps!

Hey there outlaw- Dont apologize...

The CFSA is the Community Financial Services Association of America, which sets a standard of best practices for PDL's to follow. Note, that the PDL's that belong to the CFSA are legal, licensed and so forth. Most of them are storefront PDL's.

The EPP is the Extended Payment Plan, that the CFSA member PDL should honor, if you ask for it at least 1 business day prior to your loan being due. This will allow you to pay the PDL back in 4 installments.

Ask anytime!

I did evoke the EPP with a PDL that I paid off, and when I asked for it, I was able to pick the due dates of my 4 payments. It didn't have to be that day. So I really think that it's up to the PDL to determine their policy re due dates. I would definately hang on to the documentation that you're going to get, as it's easy for payments to get lost, not credited, etc.
And Shazzers, I am very sorry to hear of your illness. And when it comes to your meds, I would check and see if your MD/hospital has any programs that could help with its cost. Hang in there and we are always a mouseclick away, OK?

Well thank you kscornell, I am starting to recover, but will always have this illness, it's just a matter of managing it. :)

Anyway, I did ask for the epp, they are setting up payments, 4, for each payday, but I did have to pay $30.00 (the interest), my next payment will be due on my next payday, and thereafter but I plan to pay it off. And I am NOT going to borrow again! I know I have said that before, but I won't! I do have a question though, they told me they could only do this once (the epp), so if I ever got another loan with them I would be obligated to pay the full amount because the epp wouldn't be available to me (not that I want too anyway! lol). Just wondering if that's an option or a law? Anyone know?

shazz, there are some organizations out there that help you pay for medications. Most are affiliated with the drug companies but they help a lot of people. I think it is the Partnership for Prescription something, sorry I cant remember the name. Anyway you fill out the app online and you can even check to see if your medication is one of the ones covered. Also, Walmart has meds for $5. I am sorry you had take out the pd loan but s@@@t happens and no one among us can or should judge you for it. I am glad the EPP worked out for you. Good luck with the meds.

shazzers, with each storefront you can only invoke the EPP once per year. So, the storefront you have an EPP with now, you can not invoke another EPP for one year. However, if you went to another storefront (not that I'm saying to do this), you would be able to invoke the EPP if you had trouble. Just wanted to clear up your question that you posted.
