If you know that a payment is not going to clear you had better contact the company before it comes due. If the company is not notified then the expected payment will be put through your account.
The company will then put the full amount through your account a few days later even though the original payment didn't clear.
If this final payment does not clear you will be contacted by a collections agency. As a customer you will not be given a chance to plead your case and work with the lender before being contacted by a collections agency.
Count yourself fortunate as the company will no longer consider you eligible to reapply through them.

I wouldn't rely on a payday loan company not putting the payment
I wouldn't rely on a payday loan company not putting the payment through just because you called them, in fact if you do call them I think 99% of them will try to put the whole amount through.
I'd close the checking account before I called any PDL company.
