Can anyone confirm if CC or WS are registered or licensed with the State Of Texas? I have looked repeatedly and have failed to find a confirmation on this.

Thanks, JW

neither is legal in TX.in fact western sky is a tribal lender so they are not legal in any state.you are not the only one they have done this to.since neither are legal in TX you only owe the principle nothing else.you must close your account and deal with them after that.once you do that they can accept the principle.last thing FYI they can't do anything once you secure your account, even garnish as TX is non-garnishment,and again it seems that these two are running this scheme as they think they get around the lending laws.both are illegal and should treated as such.

I agree with what Paul has said. They don't have the license to operate in the state of Texas. Pay back only the principal amount to them. If they try to make unauthorized withdrawals from your account, then you can put a hard debit check on your account. Avoid taking out loans from them in future.

I agree with what the previous posters have said. As they are not licensed to operate in your state, so you are required to pay only the principal amount. If you have already paid more than the principal amount to the illegal lenders, then ask them for the refund. They can???t take any legal action against you. To know about how to deal with illegal payday lenders, glance through the following link:

look into Maryland vs WS . At least in Maryland you don't owe them anything the loan is considered unenforceable. CC/WS has been prohibited from collecting on these debts at all. Also Colorado.

Try to check your states banking site. I know in Vermont they have a listing of illegal lenders, the date they were put on that list, and the reason for them being there. In Vermont, being on that list means that they have been investigated and notified that they are not legal in the state (of course they are told the terms they would need to follow if they want to apply to be licensed here). We also have laws that state if any illegal/unlicensed lender knowingly makes a loan to a resident of Vermont, the contract is void and they have no right to collect or receive any principal, interest, or charges whatsoever. My Attorney General's office and Banking Director have cease and desist letters out on my behalf right now thanks to this. So far its not helping with 2 companies, but I've gotten 3 off my back this way so far :)
