Does the FDCPA apply to Checksmart in-house collections?
I am having a lot of trouble with them. I would like the phone calls to employer to stop, would like a copy of my debt (haven't received anything in writing) etc.
Please let me know what I can do. Thank you.

Nope....inhouse collections is still the oringinal creditor. Un
Nope....inhouse collections is still the oringinal creditor. Unless your state law has higher protections, you can ask them not to call but they are under no obligation to do so. So, best advise is to start your day by calling them...then they would have no reason to call you at work.
