I've gotten some great help from this website. If I sent one of the "template letters" to a company from which I have an internet loan ; all my stuff with them has been done online(illegal in my state and I have overpaid them already by hundreds! of dollars) and they don't want to agree to mark my account paid in full. What then? Will they respond to my request and say No or will they just go straight to filing a civil suit?

how can they file a civil suit if they are illegal in your state.what state are you in?which bottomfeeder pdl is this?i personally would file AG complaints to try and get the refund.forget a PIF.if you over paid the principle borrowed then you are entitled to a refund.

I agree with Paul. Most of these illegal companies will give you a PIF once they are sent the template. They are happy to have sucked you dry for months and will just end it.

The ones that insist on hassling you knowing they are illegal really need to be reported to your AG. You need to dig your heals in and demand a refund.

You may not get it but the more bees you put in their bonnet will get you closer to your PIF letter or email.
