OK...I spent most of today filling out complaint forms for my AG's Consumer Complaint Division. They are ready to go to the post office tomorrow morning.I only filed complaints against 6 of my 10 pdls. The 6 that I know I over paid...the other 4 I left in my debt management program for now since I sincerly do owe on the principle in those cases.

I also have the letters ready to go out to the pdls. I emailed some but also wanted to send these certified mail...thing is I can't afford to do that this week. Not enough cash avaialable...

I guess what has me scared is I got home this afternoon to a voice mail and detailed email from CPD...and they now want like twice what they wanted before and are demanding payment.Which I don't have even if I wanted to send payment right now.

I am a little nervous as too what to expect and how fast the AG will work..Help!!!

CPD is a collection agency. If they are adding any charges on your account, it must be according to the contract copy you signed with the original creditor. Besides, the collection fees are governed by the attorney general of each state. Go through all the documents and get the debt validated before making any payment arrangement. You must get everything in writing first.

Yes, have them send you a listing of all the charges. You have done great on your journey to getting out of the payday loan trap. Every attorney general's office operates differently some will respond quickly, others will take some time. You need to be vigilant in your fight, and check in with the attorney general's office to follow up on your complaints. Let these companies know you filed complaints against them, I can tell you this they don't like catching the eyes of government officials, I think you are going to be successful. And you won't be so nervous as the days go by, and you can handle any stranger's calls that come your way, you know you are doing the right thing.

Thanks....all of you have helped so much...I have never done anything like this before...when someone overcharged me or billed me I just paid it...I guess I still have trouble getting it through my head that ie: on a loan of $200. I might only owe $250. instead of $800.!! I so wish the AG's office would have said "yes, you interpreted the law correctly" but she said they can not say anything over the phone and to mail my complaints and wait for someone to contact me...:(
