I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I'm not doing this right.
I live in New Jersey and from what I've read throughout this fantastic site, payday loans are prohibited here.
I have 2 PDLs. One with Plain Green and the other with MyCashNow. I followed the instructions that are posted here. I opened a new account with a different bank. I went to one of the branches of my bank (B of A) and filed claims and put stop payments on the amounts, but I was still nervous and afraid they'd take out a different amount and/or use a different name. They said they could not mark it as a "deposit only".
I went to a different branch the next day and wanted the account marked as "deposit only". Again they told me they were unable to do that. I really hate that bank. Then the rep finally just closed the account. I was told that there was a possibility that a debit could reopen the account. I was assured that I would not be charged any overdraft fees, but that I would be responsible for any items that were paid by the bank. I get that.
I sent emails to both companies. I heard back from Plain Green and saw the obligatory "courtesy letter" BS. I don't know if anyone else had an issue like this...in the reply email subject line from PG, they had the wrong Loan ID# listed and spelled LOAN wrong. They spelled it LAON. I called them out on it. I wrote them back and explained what I already had in the previous email and I'm waiting for a second response. I also told them I already know what their next correspondence will look like. I have not heard anything from MCN yet. I told MCN that I will start repaying the principle balance come January, 2012.
If anyone has any other pertinent information regarding this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Let's see how this goes...

What awesome news. Keep fighting the scoundrels of the illegal payday loan industry. It will all pay off in the end.

I don't know what this means...
After I received the "courtesy letter" from PG, I replied ASAP. I sent the reply not even an hour afterwards. I still have not heard anything back from them. Is this normal? They responded to me the first time pretty quickly. Taking their time with the second one.

BTW...Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm just gonna stick with it.
