Hello all,

Since the end of January I am STILL getting calls from this idiot. In the past month I have been called about 25 times. For awhile a man by the name of "tom stevens" has called at work and my home. He has told me the same line- I'm going to be arrested if I don't pay- still refuses to send proof of the debt. I have so far ignored the calls. My boss has already filed several complaints. I have. I have also filed a police report as well. Just in this week I have gotten several calls from the same man-THICK accent wanting me to call back at the various numbers below. I have googled the first two and to my shocking suprise :D there are several posts about the numbers. However, today the same man going by " Tom Stevens" is going by "tom rogers". I just wanted you to all be aware that they are still at it and changing number 3 times in one week just for ME to call. Can't imagine how many other numbers they have used.

Here are the numbers:
646-652-0716
904-201-3839
646-810-8639

The 646 number doesn't have anything posted on it so far...but, I have posted info on it

Just wondering if anyone else is still getting the same calls?

has this been happening constantly?i do know a couple of people who get calls, but at first they didn't know it was a scam so they would call for awhile then stop.i guess it depends on if you answer and engage even a little that first call.now they don't return there messages and it stops after a day.something really should be done about this.it is a total scam in INDIA and our elected officials should do something.

You aren't alone Tweety. The other day they called so many times at my work number that my co-workers suggested I forward the call to campus police (work at a university). Since then, I haven't heard from them - but I won't be surprised if they start calling again. I wish there was some way to find these people and then we could all file a class action suit against them - although I doubt there is any money to get for settlement from them - but would love to just see them suffer a bit.

Hi Tweety. Yes, I am still getting the calls. They were down to about once per month. This time there was only two weeks between calls. I continue to ignore them but like Paulmergel said, I did talk to them at first so I figured that is why they stilll call me. It is frustrating!!

they are the same as united law enforecement, etc. i get "officer michael smith". transferring to any police will not work, i work for the sheriff's department but he still says the sheriffs are after me. it is almost like he is a machine, he keeps saying the same thing over and over and does not comprehend anything i say (could be the language barrier).
he calls my work phone a lot.. maybe once every other month he will go on a tangent and call it several times in one day, its horrible.

They are representing themselves as being from TJF Corporation out of Manhattan, NY - and claim to be a collections agency. The caller says he is an "officer", although upon further scrutiny it is claimed he is a "private investigator".

Very suspicious tactics - most seem to be in violations of the Debt Collections Act. I would be cautious about interacting with this bunch. Definitely - no money until they prove the debt and can provide a good accounting of who they are, where they're at, etc. Otherwise - report 'em to the FTC...

i doubt anyone owes them money.. i know i personally never had a loan with the company he mentioned (i have perfect records of the loans i took). i have a feeling i applied and was denied a loan from them, in other words they set up a webpage offering loans for the pure reason of stealing people's information.

Not sure if this is the same group or not. I was getting tons of calls froM "United States Crime Suspect Department" (do a search for them on this site - 4 page thread detailing my saga). Thick Indian accents, wanting me to pay $400 on a PDL deposited to an account I'd never even had. I too got the threats of jail time, "sheriff coming to pick you up in 20 minutes" etc. I filed complaints with every agency imaginable, to no avail. I ignored their calls as much as possible. When they would get me on the phone, I'd just say "Uh huh" until they got done talking, and then I'd tell them "GO ahead." They'd ask if I was refusing to pay, and I'd just say "Yep. Good luck." Then they'd say "Someone will come to arrest you in 20 miutes" and hang up. They did this maybe 5 times, then the calls stopped completely. I think they finally realized I wasn't a sucker who was going to get scared and pay them off.

Yeah, that has been my experience as well. They called me for a while in November, then it stopped. Started again mid-December, then mid-February or so. It would stop, then start again. It hasn't happened in at least a month. If they call again, I will stick to my plan of telling them I refuse to pay. That seems to shut them up and stop the calls more quickly than anything else.

I have been getting calls about once a week. This week they have called on 3 different days. I am typically not here so they go the answering machine. I have not called them back. Does anyone here call them back? I have been told before to ignore them but they are not going away. This started about last July. At first they called several times a day, then it went to once a month and now to one or two times a week. Do you always call them back?

I tried to get them to quit calling my work number and all they say is that they cannot because I put it on the application as a good number to call. Then I refer to the State of Ohio law that says if I request to have my work number removed they have to and they claim they still can call because they know nothing about that law.

I also have them call from "local" numbers. I have been told that they buy these numbers to trick people into answering. I saw on another post that one of them actually used the local sheriffs office.

I have ignored them for now and no one has come to pick me up and haul me away even though their last message ended in "I cannot know what will happen to you if you do not return this call so God Bless".

I will admit the first call was scary and I did not know what to do and someone referred me to this site. Now I know they are just a scam. I have in writing from every pdl that I have borrowed from that my account has been closed. Strangely when I tell these people this they seem to back off.

They have called several times already this morning. I do not owe these people any money but they will not go away! Are you guys having any luck stopping them? I am ignoring them as I have read on here is the best thing but it is sure not stopping them. This started about last August, then quit for a few months, then started up about once a month and now everyday.

I just got another call today. I was hopeful they were stopping as I only got one call last week. Today it was the same old thing ... they asked for me or my attorney of record and ended the call with they wished me luck. I have been ignoring them as I read on here is the best thing to do. But, they will not go away. I have never had a loan with the people they are talking about. What is everyone doing to deal with these guys when they will not go away?? Ignoring is not working.

i recieved a letter from the FTC concerning them. They said to report them to the FBI and my state's attorney general's office. I did report to both and i know my attorney general's office is pretty useless, they do not even read complaints, they just forward them automatically to the FTC.

They have called already 3 times this morning. I was not here and hey did not leave message on the answering machine. Will they really go away if I ignore them? Unfortunately, my daughter answered the phone when they called the other night so she handed the phone to me. I am thinking now the calls will keep up for awhile.

They are calling 4 or 5 times per day. bea2ls how are you doing? I do not want to change my number as I am looking for jobs and my home number is the one I have given to potential employers.

Hey, I have been contacted by a company called CCR and Associates and they threatened me with criminal charges of internet fraud and etc if I didn't pay a loan of $200 but they were charging me $700. I live in North Carolina and the orginial loan was with Summit Group. I have already paid these people $350 but I haven't paid them anymore and I stopped them from drafting my account for any more. I just want to know if they can legally threaten people like that?

I just received a call from a 646-289-8346 saying that I owed $4,000 to a company called BMG. They said I had to make payment arrangements or else the matter would have to be settled inside court. They said I recieved a $400 loan from this BMG company. I said okay and took down all of their information- company name Financial Crimes Department.
They said I had commited fraud and theft by check and they were not nice at all. Any how I got them to hang up after I told them that I would fax over my credit card infomation to ake care of the matter. Once I hung up I googled BMG, got their number and called them. They said they did not have my name listed on their records nor do they give out $400.00 loans. She also said that they had a few calls about these people and to not do what they are asking. She said they are not in any way connected with them. I am waiting for them to call me back so that I can give them a piece of mind. They had me soooo scared it is rediculous.

I am currently getting these phone calls. I do not know how to get them to stop or how they got my information. They keep calling from all kinds of different numbers and if it hadn't been for my mother in law finding these posts on the internet i would've sent these people money. Please can you tell what my choices are or point me in the direction of someone who can. I want these people to be put behind bars. and also is there anyway for me to stop these calls??

I have received a number of these calls. Heavy Indian accents, identify themselves as "Officer..." (names used were John White and John Hensley). When I asked for their mailing address, I was told "I am not your servant. You have committed a crime." It would be laughable if it wasn't for them calling my cell AND work number, and that they seem to have my mailing address, which is scary. I am filing reports w. Atty General & FTC, but who knows what will come of it...
