The good news is I have been able to work with or settle with the payloan companies I had taken out loans. However, I'm not able to work with First IRS.

On December 30, 2009, I received a call regarding a debt to an internet payday loan company, Sagamore Lending Company. Although I owed approximately $120 to pay the principle of the loan, they said I owed a considerable amount more (which I have never gotten an amount from them). That day I sent them a debt validation letter via fax and certified mail requesting validation of the debt and that all future communication be sent to me by mail or e-mail; that they could not contact me at home or my place of employment.

On February 5, they again contacted me at work demanding payment or that I would be turned over to my county for further legal action since it was a "hot check". I again sent them a debt validation letter via fax.

On February 25, after receiving another call, I sent them a letter stating that because they did not send me the information requested on December 30, I did not consider the valid and that they should remove the collection from my credit report.

Since the initial contact on December 30, I have received a minimum of 16 calls either at my home (cell) number or at my place of employment. Some of these calls have threatened legal action and wished me "good luck". I have documentation of the letters I have sent and logged calls that I have received. I have filed complaints with BBB, FTC and KY State Attorney General's office.

If you could let me know 1.) how I can stop them from harassing me; 2.) if I have a case to pursue; and 3.) if I do have a case, how I can go about filing such a case, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Firstly Martin, I would suggest you to send them a Cease & Desist Letter.
You can check out the sample C & D Letter:
https://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forum/template-cdletter.html

If they continue calling even after that also, then you can sue them according to Consumer Protection Policy of FDCPA, Section 805 (c) and fine them $1000.
