I have a total of 12 PDL's open right now. Every 2 weeks I travel (all storefronts) to each of them and hand them 300.00 in cash and ask for a reloan, which gives me back 255.00. AT the end of the day I have spent 540.00 just to keep myself out of trouble with these compaines and basically "floating" the loans. SOme of these have been open for 6 months while a few of them are not more than a month old.

I am new to this site and I am really confused on the rights I have. I understand this is my mess, but it is soo hard for me now to get myself out of this jam and it is causing me a ton of heartache and pain.

If anyone could put in simple terms what options I have I would be ever so gratefull.

Thanks...

First, list the state you are in.

Second, list the names of the store fronts.

Third, a lot of store fronts are members of CFSA. If they are then you can request an EPP, Extended Payment Plan. That would break the loan into four equal payments over four pay days. You must request the EPP at least one day before your loan is due. Even if they are not members they may still offer it.

You may not be able to do them all at once. If you can at least do a couple EPP's then you can start getting rid of the loans slowly but surely.

I have an EPP with a store front right now (CheckSmart) and they were really nice about it. I did not even have to make the first payment the day I requested it even though my loan was due the next day. They let me make the first payment on my next payday.

Fernando's Check Cashing!!! Something about that just strikes me as funny!!

Honestly, you are in so deep, I don't know if the EPP's will even help you. The first thing that you need to do is skip the store personell and get ahold of someone higher up at the corporate level. Based on what you listed, even if you can get an EPP, the payments will be 3x's or more than what you are paying now. Put you pride aside and find numbers for corp offices, explain your situation and amounts (all of them to each company) and ask for help. The last thing that they want is to lose thier money by non-payment or bankruptcy.

Contrary to what some may say, there are people that can make decisions that will empathize with your situation and work with you.

What about a debt consolidation company? I have read about PDLAssistance here on there boards. I called and they said for 200.00 they will allow me to make 8 monthly payments for 485.00 and they would handle all of the calling and what not. After the 8 months they said I would be free and clear. This sounds almost too good to be true??

Dumb? No!!! All of us on this forum have found ourselves in this situation to one degree or another. Confused? Certainly!!! It's happened to all of us! I, for one, do not know THAT much about the laws in the state you're in, but you're at the right place, as there's plenty of people here who do. I would at least like to extend my support and understanding. And let you know that it DOES help knowing that you're not alone in this!!!

i don't have much advice but wanted to say you are in no way dumb. you are smart to ask for advice and for trying to make this right. i would take payday loan owner's advice and go to corporate.
i have worked out settlements with all of my pdls - my situation was different than yours but i have found if you keep asking, you will find someone who might help you.
