Flobridge is the name they go by. They have sent me a letter threatening garnishment- called me at work repeatedly after I told them it was prohibited, now they are sending threatening emails to me telling me that they are going to garnish 25% of my wages. I am sick of it. They have harrassed me to no end and I want it to stop. Is there any legal way they can garnish my wages? I have revoked any and all wage assignments and my HR department assured me that they pay no attention to any voluntary WA. Should I respond to this last email and lay it on the line? How in the world could they garnish me if they are illegal anyhow? And why keep threatening it over and over. It's really getting old! :(

A garnishment can only take place if it is ordered by a court, unless they have a default judgment against you in a court of law I wouldn't worry much about it because they are obviously making empty threats (which is against the law by the way). So, you need to file complaints against them and include all the details of their collection tactics, file a complaint with the BBB, FTC (in my signature) and your attorney general, asap!

On the other hand, payday lenders are know to attempt to attach wages with something called a "wage assignment". A "wage assignment" is a document you usually sign (unknowingly) when you obtain a loan which states you are allowing them to attach your wages if you should ever default on the loan. The good news is, a wage assignment can be REVOKED by YOU at ANY time. All you would need to do is shoot them an email revoking their rights to use a wage assignment against you, then, print the copy of the email you sent, take it to your employer and they can NOT honor it. Thanks All for responding. I have already sent a blanket wage assignment revokation to my HR dept. so no worries on that. I did get in touch with a consumer atty. on another matter and asked them about this as well... they said I seem to have grounds for a lawsuit- so I'll have to see how that plays out. I am tired of foolin' with these clowns!!
