Hi,
I live in Florida and have the following 5 payday loans:
1.) Amscot Financial, owe $551.00, interest $51 (every 2 weeks), paid thousands over the last couple of years!!
2.) Discount Advances, owe $470.00, interest $70 (every 2 weeks), paid $500+
3.) Pay1Day, owe $520, interest $120 (every 2 weeks), paid $120
4.) CashAdvanceNetwork, owe $390, interest $90 (every 2 weeks), paid 0.
5.) Greenlight Funding, owe $390, interest $90 (every 2 weeks), paid 0.

I was thinking of going into Amscot (since they are an actual "store") and deal with them in person.
The other 4 are all online loans.
I would like to pay them each $130.00 every paycheck and eventually pay them all off in full (with interest) without any problems.
Should I close my bank account and send them each letters stating my intentions?
Or should I go through somebody like "PDL Assistance" and do it through them?
If I pay the interest alone to these companies, it would practically take my whole paycheck every two weeks and I'll never be able to pay them off!
Any help would be appreciated in this matter.
Thanks in advance!! :)

Also, I know that paying these people $130.00 each every paycheck will practically take my "whole paycheck" every two weeks for the next 8 weeks or so, but I understand that it's the "punishment" I will have to take for even going through with these things in the first place!!

Payday loans are a horrible trap. We take one out thinking it will get us through and then we end of taking more out to cover the first and so on. However, please do not over-burden your finances to the point you can't make the payments you set up.

I have worked with PDL Assistance for the past year, plus. I don't know how it will all turn out and I'm not sure I'm satisfied with this company. However, I'm almost to the end of the program so we'll see. I do know when I started with PDL a great weight was lifted. However, if I would have found this forum first, I would not have gone with any company. I would follow the instructions and information that all of these great people on this sight have developed. I probably would be further along.

Don't give up and stop giving these payday loan people all your money. Follow the suggestions given to you on this forum. Close your bank account, etc. I think you will feel much better knowing you are in control of your money and you can say who gets it and who don't.

Good luck.

Thanks Anita for the advice!
I guess I just want this debt to go away as fast as possible, that's all.
I figured paying them my whole paycheck the next 2 months or so would get me out of this debt sooner without worrying about it for too long.
However, with the holidays near, I definitely WOULD like to have a little bit of money to maybe even buy a present or two!
I heard a "PDL Assistance" commercial on the radio yesterday and searched the forum as well to see if they were any good or not.
From what I've read so far, it seems like a decent alternative.
I will continue to read this forum and learn more about how I can do this.
Thanks so much for your input!!

I'll keep you updated on the PDL Assistance. Like I said, this forum has a lot of great information. If I would have found it before PDL Assistance, I wouldn't have used PDL Assistance. However, since I only have 4 more months to pay PDL, I'll stick with it.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

Once again, thanks Anita.
Happy Holidays to you and your family as well!
It seems like a common thing to do is close your bank account first and foremost.
I'm just wondering if I should go through a place like PDL Assistance or try to "negotiate" with these people one by one.
I know how ruthless some of them can be.
Anita, has the phone calls stopped at all for you during this process?

I know that SHAZZAZ (I think is the spelling) on this forum has provided me with the link to see if the payday loan companies are legal or not. I'm new to forums and really don't know how to bring that thread back here. However, look at one of the other Payday Loan threads and I'm sure the link will be there.

Yes - close your bank account today. Again, the links that appear on the payday loan help threads will teach you and walk you through each step that you will need to take. If I had it to do all over again, I would not go with PDL Assistance or any company. I would follow these good people's advice and work it out on my own. I probably would be getting refunds now instead of paying the last four months of the contract.

Again - go back to the Payday Loan Help threads and read through a few of them. You'll find a lot of great answers and suggestions.

The calls - I receive calls from Payday One and NCO right now. I let them go to voice. I have never spoken to any of them. Every once in a while a foreign (Indian) I believe will call and threaten me with being arrested and ending the call with "only God can help you now". These people are a scam. Never, never give out our confirm any information they have. They will already have your SS#, phone number, and even relative's information. Again, never confirm anything with them.

Send C & D letters to each of your creditors. Cancel your bank account. These are your first steps. Never acknowledge any debt to any one who calls you (if you answer the phone).

Again, I can't stress enough - read back through some of the threads. You'll find a multitude of information that will guide you.

Good Luck and now there is a light at the end of the PDL tunnel.

Anita

I just received a call from Cash Yes.com. I told them I sent them a $20.00 money order because I have made 3 payments totalling $75.00, which would pay off my $100.00. She insists I owe them $130.00. She also stated YOU came to US, we didn't come to you. Totally evaded the question about having a license to lend to DC residents. Now I am confused. On the other hand, if they were ethical, the should have looked at where I was located and said, no, we cannot help you. We are not authorized to do business in Washington, DC. Comments anyone??? thk You. I think I have paid them because she is basically telling me, they have no money lenders license, which is required for Dc.

if they were ethical.that is like saying if jessica simpson wasn't an airhead.these places have no morals,or ethics.so you borrowed 100.00 and made three payments totalling 75.00.then you send in what you owe.don't let these idiots sway you, because that is what they will try and do.

PaydayOne is a legal lender, you may want to look over their contract as they may be a CSO (Credit Service Organization), this means they would not follow the payday loan laws and are usually perfectly legal in what they charge, you can check at the links below:

First of all, thanks everybody for all the advice.
Now, I am ready to close my checking account in a couple of days.
The next payments with my payday loan companies come out in about 10 days.
Does anyone know anything about these lenders to see if they are legal or not?
Thanks in advance for any help.
1.) Pay1day
2.) CashAdvanceNetwork
3.) Greenlight Funding

Is that Padya One, or pay1day? If it's the second one then NONE of those are legal. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.
Shazzers, it IS the second one I mentioned above, Pay1day and NOT Payday One.
Also, just to get this straight, Greenlight Funding and CashAdvanceNetwork are illegal as well?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
I really appreciate it!!
First of all, thanks Shazzers for your help!
I am closing my account tommorrow and am thinking about calling PDL Assistance and starting the program with them for my 4 "online" payday lenders (items #2-5).

1.) Amscot Financial, owe $551.00, interest $51 (every 2 weeks), paid thousands over the last couple of years!!
2.) Discount Advances, owe $470.00, interest $70 (every 2 weeks), paid $500+
3.) Pay1Day, owe $520, interest $120 (every 2 weeks), paid $120
4.) CashAdvanceNetwork, owe $390, interest $90 (every 2 weeks), paid 0.
5.) Greenlight Funding, owe $390, interest $90 (every 2 weeks), paid 0.

I am going to try to deal with Amscot in person, which is a "store" front lender and is under the CFSA? plan.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me!! :)

Well, I closed my bank account this week and plan on starting out a payday loan program tommorrow.
I'm just not sure whether I should go with PDL Assistance or Town and Country Acceptance.
I have checked this website many times over for advice on the two, and it seems that Town and Country might be the best way to go.
Their BBB rating is B+, whereas PDL Assistance is a D-.
Any suggestions anyone? Please help.
I need to do this tommorrow.
Thanks in advance!!

I can't really recommend either as I have not had any experience with them. Based on some of the posts I have read from other members there are pro's and cons. Personally, I would not hire a company to do what I can do myself for free, but that's just my opinion, for what it's worth.
