I have a few internet pdl and i live in florida.
i'm in default on them. I read a lot of the post very help full.
question is if they are illegal and need a license here, why cant i play hard ball with them and tell them either they comply with florida laws or i'll see them in court. would that work. every time they call why cant i just say that untill they make a deal with me.

You can say thats if thats what you want to do. Most of these places will twist and turn your words and talk in circles, have thick accents you can barely understand and its my opinion there is no benefit to talking with them. Its my opinion that the more you talk with them the more they will call and harass you-the fastest way to get rid of them is to completely ignore them. When you say "would that work" what is it that you are trying to accomplish? What kind of deal are you hoping to get?

Even if the pdls are illegal you still owe them the principal you have borrowed. May be you can avoid paying the interest and fees.

I'm with Resqume, what do you want to accomplish by suing them? When they are violating the state laws already they would give a hoot to your threats as well.

what im trying to say is that, i cant pay the whole loan off in full, and the finance charges is killing me, I just need a payment arrangement, i just meant if the pdls dont care about your state's law and if they wont do payment arrangements with you then the only other choice is to take me to court. i wanna pay them back but cant do the whole thing.i already paid 450. on a 300 dollar loan and 520 on a 400 dollar loan mostly in finance charge. plain and simple i just dont know what to do.

If you would post the names of the companies we can help you with how to deal with them. If you know for sure they are illegal then have you read the sticky on dealing with illegal lenders? Thats the place to start. The very first post describes in detail exectly what to do including links to sample letters.
