I recently in Dec recieved a payday advance in state of pa, I have been paying intrest every 2weeks since then. I sent them a message about our state laws being that this is illegal and no longer want them to debit my account. this is what they sent back , should I worry and am responsable to pay back

I respect a consumer who researches the services to which he/she uses. With that being said when you applied for and agreed to the terms of the loan it would have behooved you to read the complete contract you were agreeing to. You are a citizen of the state of Pennsylvania; however the contract was not made in the state of Pennsylvania. The contract was completed via the world wide web, the governing law (clearly outlined in your contract) which you agreed to by your legal e-signature is based in the isle and providence of Nevis, West Indies, Bahamas. When you spoke with our representative, on the day your loan was approved, she clearly outlined how the loan works and what the finance charges were, yet you still accepted the loan.
With all the information at hand I am still willing to work out arrangements for the principal that is still owed on your account. We will cease debiting the finance charges of $90, however the account will not be marked ???Paid In Full??? until the principal amount of $300.00 has been satisfied. You may contact our offices 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday. Our toll free phone # is 1-877-355-3915. You must contact our Collections Department at extension 100 or 103 as soon as possible. If no contact is made within a reasonable time the account will be sent to a third party collection agency.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email.

First, take a deep breath. You need to make arrangements to close your account and open a new one. Once your account is secured, you can deal with the payday loan company. If you have an upcoming ACH draft coming through, you need to notify your bank 3 days in advance to stop that payment. Tell them it's an illegal withdrawal.

Send a certified letter to the PDL telling them that they are bound by the laws of PA (go to www.paydayloan.info.org/consumer.asp#5 - pay particular attention to the part that says:
File complaints against Internet payday lenders with your state regulator, your state Attorney General, and the Federal Trade Commission. Regardless of where the Internet lender says it is located, it is subject to your state's credit regulations.

I would print out this page and attach it to your letter. file an internet complaint at www.ic3.gov and attach a copy of the complaint to your letter.

Tell them you are only legally required to pay them the amount you borrowed. Figure out how much that is, and if already paid, then tell them to pound sand. Then ignore their calls. There's nothing they can do to you.
