Hello,

Like most others I have found myself in debt with payday loans and need help on how to get out of this.

Here are the 3 PDLS I have

National-PaydayLoan.com Borrowed $200 Paid $60 in fees twice, so paid $120

Advantage Cash Services Borrowed $450 paid back $135 3 times so far, so total paid is $405

LoanShopOnline Borrowed $300 paid $180 fee only 1 time so far

Payday lending is prohibited in PA, so none of the payday lenders in your state are legal. You can get rid of the debts by paying them only the principal amount. Illegal lenders won???t be able to take any legal action against you. Close your bank account asap so that they can???t debit money from your account in future. The following link may help you to know about how to deal with illegal lenders:

Hi,

I agree with Sandra.

Since payday loans are illegal in PA, you don't need to worry about paying the high interest on these loans which is the major concern for most people. It is advisable that you close your bank account down so that any of your lenders are not able to deduct any money from your account. Also, contact them saying that you will only return the principal amount and do that as fast as possible to get over with your debts.

the dept of banking in more than one state love to try and interpret the law.as SOAPLADY stated they are wrong.ask your AG for a different point of view.they will confirm the loans illegal.

I have contacted the federal trade commission and filed a report,I have contacted the pa ag's office and still waiting for a return call,I have contacted the pa dept of banking who is in charge as far as i know for regulating these payday advances and was told that payday advances are illegal in the state of pa,However if there are clauses in the contract that say that the contract is in another state that is an issue.

your state did away with that loophole almost two years ago.it is true that before march of 2009 that if a pdl had license in any state you followed those laws, but again since mar 2009 all pdls are prohibited.

Just like to give everyone and up date cash yes stated my account is paid in full after i told them i filed a complaint with my states ag office and the ftc. However cashcure still insists that they are licensed in delaware and they do not have to abide by pa law so iam filing a report to the ag office and the pa dept of banking.

yes file an AG complaint, but stop going through the dept of banking.your AG is there to fight for consumers.the dept of banking only grants licenses.they don't know the laws.nor do they enforce them.especially against unlicensed entities.file the AG complaint and that's it.

@Rocco, going through the same thing in PA. Best of luck. I have taken the same steps that you have and will hopefully have good results. PDL's are in fact illegal/prohibited in PA. I was able to access my accounts and tally up the fees paid. One of them, CashNetUsa - I had paid $5000 in fees, and they were threatening action over $650 principal owed from 2009. I sent the attorney a letter detailing this. We will see.
