I live in Washington State, and after reading this forum I am encouraged AND confused! I took out 4 internet payday loans and I don’t know what I should expect from them because of law and what is just, “good business practice”. I don’t believe any of them are licensed in Washington State. I did email one (JHS Marketing) and I quickly got a response that I need to comply with THEIR state laws, not them with mine. My second email was to Star Cash, and they have not replied in over a week. I need help knowing what I should be demanding from them, and what I need to comply with.

These are the loans I have out:

Star Cash Processing: Loan amount $350.00, amount paid $420.00 (so far)
JHS marketing: Loan amount $300.00, amount paid $720.00 (so far)
Fast Cash: Loan amount 350.00, amount paid $315.00 (so far)
Fox enterprises: Loan amount $250.00, amount paid $675.00 (so far)

Thank you for any suggestions & help

I believe all four of those are illegal in this state. You can learn abou the Washington State payday loan laws at the web site Access Washington. Find the DFI web site. Essentially, if they are not licensed, they are illegal and illegal loans are not collectable here. Follow the instructions on this web site for dealing with illegal lenders. The DFI here has been pretty aggressive against payday loan places, and has a couple of Orders against places like Eastside Lenders, Genava Roth (Loanpointusa), Emerald Marketing, etc.
All legal loans are required to follow the fee schedule, you can only have one out at a time, and you can enter a payment plan at anytime. There are two payment plans. If your loan is $499 or under, you get (I believe) 90 days to pay it back. If you loans is between $500 and $700, you get 180 days. Payments are made every two weeks. If you miss a payment, you have 10 days to cure the default before they can declare it in default. There is no fee to enter the payment plan. Hope this info helps.
