I have a huge problem... I had taken out five separate payday loans with United Cash Loans... The total amount borrowed was $1600 (five separate loans). I have repaid $3255. I read the advice on these forums and sent them a letter stating that they no longer had my authorization to draft my acount and to mark my account paid in full. I received a reply stating that they would attempt to. I placed a stop payment on all United Cash Loans ACH transactions. The drafts stopped for a month. Today a noticed a check that had posted to my account for the amount of 720.00... It was from United Cash Loans... I did not write this check... I don't even have checks; I strictly use my debit card... Is this legal for them to issue themselves a check from my account? I am going to the bank tomorrow to claim fraud and dispute the transaction, as well change my account number...

bob, how in the world did you get so many loans with one pdl? Or do you mean you had a "total" of this many loans with this pdl? Regardless, United Cash Loans is not a licensed/legal lender. They are evil. As you now know. Apparently, you did an ACH block on United Cash Loans. This will not work (as you have found out). Internet pdl's (especially the illegal ones) will stop at nothing to get your money. They apparently found their ACH debits were blocked, so they put through an electronic check. No, you didn't write the check. But they put through an electronic check and it says on there "signature not required" or something along those lines because they have your authorization to debit your account. Yes, maybe you did revoke their authorization to debit your account; however, they are an illegal company. They are not going to abide by this. You caught this quick. Electronic checks are harder to reverse off your account. You need to go to your bank, speak with the branch manager, dispute this, and they can return the "check" to United Cash Loans. This has happened to me. I've seen the electronic checks. It's an ugly mess. While you are at the bank, with the branch manager, you need to discuss closing that bank account. You need to see if they will totally close it or put a hard debit block on it so NOTHING goes through (not even your stuff). Nothing will hit it. Please go to the bank, only speak with the branch manager, and dispute this electronic check as quickly as possible. The sooner you inform them, the easier it is for them to reverse it. Electronic checks are harder to reverse off than an ACH debit. And be sure to get that account closed or blocked. You will need to open a new account.
