I previously had 6 payday loans (all internet) upon finding this forum I closed my bank account and sent letters of revoke of ach to the companies. The only company who has responed is Khaki Funding (Loanshop) I paid $720 on a $300 loan and I live in South Carolina. They have called 27 times in the last 4 days. I got a phone call today from Robert Foster (1-866-669-3182 ex.3291) who would not state the name of the company he worked for, only that he was working on behalf of Khaki funding. He said no matter what our state laws are we were obligated to pay him $300 today, or he would contact our local authorities to have me picked up for fraudulent check writing and notify the check writes system and I would never be able to write a check again. Then said I was using my Social Security number fraudulently and could report me to the FBI. What should I do?

Volley, it is very funny. They must think that everyone they speak to is an idiot. WE have made mistakes, but we are far from stupid.I think next time someone says something silly like that we should just ask them what they mean, and then laugh, because they wont be able to explain it. BLah blah blah

Smilingfaces: This exact same thing happened to me with one of our ipdl's. I too paid more than what I owed even with the finance fee. This man called me and wouldn't tell me the company he worked for and also that someone would show up at my husband's job to incarcerate him. I almost laughed in his face because I was lucky enough to find this site before he called. I listened to him for a while to see what he had to say and he offered some ridiculous settlement amount (on a $150 loan), and then I told him that I would only pay back what I borrowed plus simple interest. He said ok hold on let me see if that will work, then he put me on hold. While I was on hold I started thinking wait a minute I've already paid so what am I doing talking with this loser? So when he came back he said another high settlement amount and I asked him how he could justify requesting that when they are not even licensed to operate in my state and my state law prohibits them from lending to anyone here. He said oh you want to talk law with me? I'll talk law. I said yes as a matter of fact I do what you got and he just got mad. Then at that point I said see ya and hung up the phone. Someone else, a woman tried to call maybe two times after that and left a message acting like they were talking to the wrong person in the first place, but then I never heard from them again. Not a phone call or one piece of parchment in the mail.

We had another post about that too...being downloaded...and then someone else was going to be uploaded and then I remember saying that I hoped while they were doing that to me they would acidentally hit delete! They are all so full of it...trying to scare poeple...if they were half way decent none of us would have had any issues with them at all....

The best piece of advice is to try desperately not to take the phone calls. If at all possible, do not speak with these pdl's via telephone. If you get stuck on the phone with them, hang up. I know it's hard to do if they call your place of employment, but if you can "get around" receiving calls, try to. If they call your home/cell phone & you do not recognize the phone number, do not answer it. It's not worth the stress or energy to argue with these law breakers. They will lie, they will threaten, they will scare you to death. And for what? To try to get more money from you when they aren't even licensed/legal. If at all possible, please try not to take any calls. Don't even attempt to reason with them. They will eventually resort to email or USPS once they realize you are not going to speak with them via telephone.

Thanks, roxy! When you're dealing with "slick" people, you have to become "slick" yourself!

I not only do not work where I work, i do not live where i live , and mty telephine # is no longer my telephone #. One place called and i said I no longer live there, they asked who I was and did I know that taking over someones identity was a crime. They told me it was a crime to move into some ones home and keep the same phone number WTF

Ok, like you couldn't have just changed your number and someone got your old one!! That's a riot. I used to work for Verizon the phone company and people would call everyday to change their phone number because they were "being harrassed". It's so funny how these people just don't have any brains. I am the daycare provider when people call my house looking for either me or my husband. Funny they don't know that's it's me. They always ask my name. It's always Sharon. Our community is very empowering. I feel stronger for just being here. I let things overcome me for a long time, but I'm not going to let that happen anymore.

I am usually 'erica" when these people call, and I never have heard of "myself" when they ask. It really is funny at times. It amazes me the questions that these people ask when I say its not me. They accuse me of all sorts of things , and tell me I can be arrested for using another persons address, phone number etc. How stupid are they?

That is so ridiculous. I can and can't believe how stupid people can be sometimes. If someone told me that they never heard of someone I wouldn't think twice about saying oh well, I guess I got the number wrong or they must've changed it. Just because you look someone up on the white pages doesn't mean that the information is correct. I used to do background checks and I know what it's like tracking down a person. I also know that these people aren't going to go through the same extent as to which I had to go. It's basically a list of things you have to do when you come in to work that day. Boss: Here's your list of debtors to call. When you're through call them all back again. Employee: O.k. you're the boss. They don't want to go and try to find another number. Not like there is one, but still. I would write it off as a dead beat phone number. haha

It must be enjoyable for them otherwise why would they show up for work everyday? I couldn't do it. I couldn't be that heartless to people. It's kind of funny I just checked my email and had one there that said from CashAdvance and the subject was "Do you have a bank account?" How funny. They really do think we're stupid.

Someone named Troy Paysley called me today from this number with the most "girlish" sounding voice threating me. I could not help but laugh at him as he screamed I was getting arrested by 5pm today for not paying my payday loan. I stated I never had a payday loan and just got my phone number last month. He said I was lying and it was a crime to state I was someone other that I was. He continued to yell and I told him to give me his information as my husband is a federal prosecutor and would have him call him. He said is was a crime to lie. I stated my husband really is a federal prosecutor and he hung up on me. I called my husband at work and he told me just to change the phone number as these people work out of "boiler rooms " from the Caribean or other places and not to get worried.

Well, I call and get a busy signal. It's listed as a "landline" in Santa Clara County, San Jose, CA. Still searching.

Interesting when I google. Must be "pajama man". Check it out:

I am recieving at minimum 5 calls a day for the past two weeks at my place of employment. There is no response when answered. I am filing a complaint with the FCC.

Call every 8 minutes for about an hour all week.

This is an internet mortgage loan company. They became very rude when I asked them to stop calling.

This people called me too, over and over. Then they wanted to have gay ****. Ewww.

I mistakenly provided my phone number to lendingtree.com and now I get calls from 408-538-2809 atleast 7 times a day.

I dared my 14 year old step son to answer the phone and tell them to go to hell. He didn't of course, he thought I was setting him up to get in trouble. I'm glad my boys know better. =) I know I did not fill out ANYTHING online or anywhere for that matter for any type of loan. Right now I'm just trying to hold on to my house and get by until the cash flow problem lets up, so that I certainly did not sign up for.

Oh man!!!!!!!!! That is TOO much, lol!!!!! Cannr, if I got a call like that at work from a guy wanting to have gay ****, I would have to say something like, "well, you are VERY confused here, as you're speaking to a woman," or something along those lines...
OK, I lost something in my menopausal brain here...but how did gay **** come out of the other phone call?
