I got a payday loan that i can not repay

American Web Loan is an internet lender who never ask me for ID or called to verify anything either. I would have ask more questions if they had, and I would have most definitely passed the offer with such ludicrous fees attached. I am a single Mother picking up work online when I can. I needed a reasonable pay scale, not something that was made impossible to repay through unreasonable terms. I do not want to go to jail either. I tried calling them and they stuck to the pay 120 biweekly to extend and anything over is being applied to the actual loan. WHAT CAN I DO? WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN NOT REPAY IT? :(

Your lender is illegal. You should only repay the principal balance of that $400 loan. Anything you've paid so far counts toward that principal. Fees and interest aren't payable.

I closed my accounts, and opened new ones. I am worried about legal ramifications now. The way that they went about things was very tricky and deceitful. Now I am stuck with having to get all of my accounts right again, wait on new cards and checks, and stuck with a mounding heap of fees that I am worried about prosecution for. I will pay the 400.00 eventually, and over time.....but I can not pay all of these unnecessary fees. What will happen now that I closed out my old accounts?
What is the mounding heap of fees you're talking about?

being as the pdl is illegal they can't charge fees.you only owe the 400.00.that's it.an illegal can't/won't do a thing especially pursue you criminally.don't worry, and follow ohiogal's sticky.we can help if you have any questions, but an illegal can't charge fees.

Maybe you didn't understand. All of those $120 fees you've paid so far, should be deducted from the initial $400 you were loaned. Since this is an illegal lender, no fees or interest are payable. Only repay the $400 and, if you've already paid more than $400 in fees, ask for a refund of your overpayment.
