What info do send the Agencies like BBB Etc.

Should I send one to the FBI? With all the complaining that all these people are doing to stop these illegal pdl's, why and how are they getting away with it? It looks as though they just keep taking advantage of desperate people like me. Desperate people do desperate things.

I feel you. I will file a complaint with your State's Division of Financial Institutions. Google them and give them a call. The BBB rates companies and is a useful database for finding information, but the Division will actually stop these companies by suing and placing large fines on them.

Form letters may be good for templates and there are plent on the boards if you search around. But remember, form letters don't attract attention and your complaint is one of many the regulator is going to see. You want to motivate them to take action, not just send out a form letter of your own. So tell them your story, and try to include things like:
1) How you were solicited.
2) What the interest rate and/or APR was and whether it was clear to you on both the lender's website and the documents you sent.
3) Whether you actually were sent documents.
4) Whether you understood the company's refinance policy and, in particular, whether what you were told by the rep matched what actually happened.
5) If you went into default, how did they try to collect? Phone calls? E-Mails?
6) Did the collectors threaten you with criminal prosecution? Call you 20 times in a single day? Disclose your personal info to third parties?
Then put together a package of every document that's relevant - your loan documents, copies of e-mails, even screenshots of their websites if you believe your were misled. The cleaner the package and the more personal your story the more likely the bureaucrats will act upon it.

Funny thing.....I was preparing my complaint letters to file with the state, etc. I'm just filing on the ILLEGAL one (who tries to claim they are legal)who wouldn't give me a PIF when I had overpaid already. I actually was cleaning out my old wallet the other day and found the initial advertisement that I got for them ...through the mail!!! So, an illegal loan company solicited an illegal loan through the U.S. Postal Service!!! My husband actually received an "offer" letter from them recently. I should have kept that one too!
