Can online payday loan companies garnish your paycheck. I have 7 outstanding and want to get out of them and the only way is to close my account, call them and set up payment arrangements. They say that if you signed you are bound by the laws in their state. They don't say they will garnish my check but I was wondering if they would. Please let me know what I can do.

What would happen if I accepted a loan for $200 and they deposit it in my account. I then withdraw it and close my account and get a new one. Can they garnish my wages or try to arrest me for a bounced check or fraud??? Wont they just send it to collections and it go against my credit?

In my opinion, that would be stealing money. Why would you accept a $200 loan and not pay it back. That is really dishonest of you. You are morally obligated to pay back what you borrow.

I origionally started working with Payday loan debt solutions PDL they received 2or 3 payments from me then I cancelled the service I continued to receive calls from lenders durinf the service , I called and they said they continue to collect $ form us then disburse the larger accounts first then down to the smaller ones but alotof companies do not deal with them. so you have to take care if them on your own. You can get out of them yourself eventually they will reduce the amoount you owe to the principal. Pay day loans are a night mare but easy money for the moment , kinda like a moment on your llips a life time on your hhips!!

If an attorney is calling you, they are obviously collecting for checkngo. My first word of advice is to NEVER admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone, because as far as you know, that is all it is, a voice on the telephone stating you owe money.
Tell them they are required by the FDCPA to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) through the mail within 5 days of their first initial contact with you. I would be VERY wary about making payment arrangements with someone who is claiming to be an attorney without the documentation in front of you. This way you can verify they are a legal attorneys office, and also verify if they are licensed to collect (if that is the case, each state varies) in your state.

well they can't garnish without a court order.give your HR or payroll person a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter.there should be a template in the DIY section.alot of online illegal's threaten garnishment, but since they wouldn't have a prayer in a court of law they consider a wage assignment the same thing.they are not.wage assignments are voluntary and revocable.draft that letter asap.then use whatever info you have to file AG,AND FTC complaints.btw i had illegals threaten that as well, and since i presented the letter nothing came out of my paycheck.

I live in OK and I have a payday loan that I defaulted on with Flobridge. They contacted my employer and my employer has garnished my wages...luckily only 15%. I will only have 3 payments from my employer to meet my amount due, but I'm concerned that they were allowed to garnish as I thought you had to do so with court order in the state of OK. Does anyone know?

I would like to provide my company with proof to get this stopped because I was beginning work with a PDL consolidation company but all the cash I was going to have to go to the PDL consolidation is now going to Flobridge. I don't want to put myself in jeopardy of losing my job either. I've been here 5 years and am well respected.

Thanks for your time.

My daughter has gotten herself in a mess with several payday loan lenders. Now they're taking her entire check and she has children. What are the repercussions of not paying them anymore?

Hi, I currently have 3 payday loans from online sources.  I am not sure what states they are from, but I am in Illinois.  I put a stop payment on them at my bank... but they are calling my work, and one says they will be taking money out of my paycheck?  Can you help me?  they are netPDL, oneclickcash, and allcreditlenders.
