Got a call from this # - 520 293 2596 - on my caller ID on Saturday, at 8:30 in the morning. I'm on the East Coast and this is an Arizona Area Code. I know very well that no legit business would be calling me that early from Arizona! Did a search of the number and - you guessed it - apparently it's a bottomfeeder collector/PDL. These people are coming out of the woodwork anymore, aren't they? :( Anyone else had a call from this #?

From my research it is GC services for student loans.

And yes, legit businesses will call that early from arizona. If they have Department of Education accounts they are required by contract to be available from 8 am to 9 am....collectors work different shifts. I always worked the late shift ....I was midwest but worked regularly until 11pm to accomodate debtors in California. Other collectors came in at 7am to work east coast callers.

Debt collector's call all hours of the day and night, weekdays, weekends. They use several different phone numbers, names, etc. to get you to answer the phone. Some times the call is routed so many different ways that you think its coming from AZ and it might not be. I have this happen as well, so unless I know anymore who's calling I don't even bother to answer the phone. If you don't engage these people at some point they do stop calling.

Student loans? Hm, on the searches I did they said it was a collection place and that the callers were very nasty. At any rate I don't have nor have I ever had a student loan, so if that's what it is, I'll ignore them. As for collectors using different phone numbers, I know that all too well; one PDL I dealt with was located in the UK, their phone bank was in India, yet they used a Utah telephone number! :)
