I have been going through alot of tough money troubles due to my husband's disabilitys. He is a Iraqi Freedom vet. We have payday loans, but are slowly paying them off. I need help in knowing if Geneva Roth Capital Funding (GRC) is legal and what I can do to get out of this hell we have created for ouselves.

Company Date opened amount Paid so far
Geneva Funding 4/24/08 $300 $1170

I can't afford $90.00 every 2 weeks much longer. Especially with the way the economy is going.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi tm,

Can you please tell us:
What state you live in?

Can you list the names of the other payday loan companies you have, the amount borrowed & how much you have paid to date.

Depending on your state, it may be that none of them are legal. If you can provide the info, we should be able to help :)

I live in Florida

The other loans I have just about paid off entirely. I took out the loans and will pay them back. I was able to get ahold of Geneva Roth today and they are witing the loan off due to making over 10 payments. But to anser your question
Astro Loan $200 paid to date $60 (balance $260)
Fast cash $300 paid to date $ (balance $100)
Big Deas $800 paid to date $250 (balance $1028)
Think Cash $750 paid to date $1740 (balance $218.85)
Upfront cash $400 paid to date $120 balance $520)
Cashcall $2700 paid to date $2153.67 (balance $3897.90)
Loan shop $200 paid to date $60 (balance $260)
International Payments $300 paid to date $450 (paid off)

I will pay off Astro, Loan shop, Think cash and Fast cash on the 1st.

We got into these problems as my hubby has problems and would go and spend money, I didn't realize how far indebt we had gotten until I sat down and started looking at it.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi,

Here are the law's for Florida, FL requires internet lenders to be licensed to lend. FL also has some companies that are acting as CSO's ( I will post that info in a moment)these companies would be legal. I can tell you that the most important would be Think Cash, they are backed by the First Bank of Deleware and are legal, I will need to check on the other companies for you, if they are illegal then any fee's you have paid go towards the loan and you would be responsible for the difference. I think you paperwork will tell you if they are a CSO or not:

I looked up the companies, from what I can tell they are all illegal. I can't find any info on Big Deas? Is that the correct name or are they a storefront?

Astroloan - not licensed - you owe $240
FastCash - not licensed - it looks like they may owe you, but I'm not sure how much you have paid
Big Deas - ?
Upfront Cash - not licensed - you owe $280
Loan Shop - not Licensed - you owe $140

Think Cash & Cash Call are legal so you would need to work out something with them. I am posting the letter you can use for the illegal companies, you will need to update it for Florida:

I will do more research and try and get the companies to forgive the debt based upon how much I have paid. I just feel like since I received the loan I should at the least pay back the amount they gave me.

BIG is located in the UK therefore any address in the states will be a front address.
