So I received a voicemail message from a Mr. Biggs of MLA out of Atlanta, GA. Phone number 404-228-2517, stating that he has a complaint against me for a bad check. He stated that if I don't call him back by tomorrow at 11 a.m., he will have to submit the paperwork to the local courts. I regret the day that I got involved with payday loans. My payday loan nightmare ended last summer, but the phone calls continue on an intermittent basis.
My questions are: 1). Do I need to call this guy back? I have never received any collection letter in the mail. I figure that if what he states is legit, I should receive a collection letter backing up his claim. I will not settle over phone or verify anything over the phone. 2). Does this Payday Loan Forum have a centralized location of where we can post the phone numbers of those so called collection agencies that call us?
Thank you for your guidance. If it wasn't for this forum, I would probably still be in payday loan hell.

If you're based in Georgia and taken out a loan from a Georgia based payday loan company, then let me tell you that they are illegal. Payday lending is prohibited in the state of Georgia. Thus, they won't be able to take any legal actions against you for the non-payment of the debt. But it will be better if you could pay them the principal balance and sort out the matter. Thus, I don't think you need to call the person. Rather, you can contact the payday lender and directly pay them the debt.
