I had a loan with SpeedyCashToday for $400 and paid $240 a month since March. They took out $640 yesterday and now none of their numbers work . I have paid them almost $1500. Can I get my bank to return the debit? I have paid them more than enough!

Help

Payday lending is considered legal in Louisiana. However, in order to know whether or not SpeedyCash is licensed to operate in your state, you need to contact the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions. If you find that they are not licensed to operate in your state, then you will be liable for paying them only the principal amount. In such a situation, you need to contact them and ask for the refund of the excess amount that you have paid them. The bank will not refund the amount to you.

you said speedy cash today, not just speedy cash.then they are illegal in LA.you need to close your current account asap.the fact that the numbers no longer work is a biiiiig red flag.secure your money right away.chances are they are gonna change their name soon as that is what illegals sometimes do when it gets too hot in the proverbial kitchen.do that and then when they call about the loan demand the refund as you have already overpaid and should not let them get another dime anyway.

let's do this again.this is not a legal lender meaning you overpaid on this loan.now as far as a refund goes close that account, wait for the illegal to call you as they most likely will, and then demand the refund.your bank can only refund the most recent debits, but you must go in person and see a manager for this.just know that unless you secure that account they can still debit and might under a new name.btw the real speedy cash is in KS not UT so this is illegal.secure the account and try to recoup some of the debited money, but don't delay.

yes they are illegal in LA.now that we established that you need to close/secure the account.your back will most likely be able to return any recent debits if they are reallt recent, but as for getting a refund of the overpayment you must wait until this illegal lender contacts you.once you close your account and they can't debit they will contact you.just know they are most likely are just down for a bit and will debit again soon.cut off their access to your money.go to the sticky and follow it as to close this is an illegal lender and neds to be treated as such.
