I know I ask a lot of questions. Got one more if you don't mind. PDL with Advance America (storefront) (Tennessee). I have been rewriting for months now. After getting involved with the relentless online illegals, I closed my account. Called Advance America, told them due to circumstances out of my control, had to close my account, blah blah. Didn't have the money to even pay and rewrite. They say no worries, just borrow it from someone and bring us a check to rewrite with from the new account. (I swear I have no backbone at all!) So I said okay. Decided I didn't want to do that. Called them today, and told them I just didn't have the money, and could not borrow the 345 to rewrite. Could I please see if I qualify for the Extended Payment Plan and just pay it off. The girls there are so nice...but so persistent!! They say, no, you'd have to default to get payments and you don't want to do that. We don't want to do that to you, you're such a good customer! (I bet I am, I've paid them 150 a month for like 6 months in interest!!) They tell me just see what you can do about getting the money and we'll hold your check until Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday.

This check they've been holding for over a week! (it was due last Friday-the 18th). I do not understand why they want me to rewrite it so bad and why they won't just set me up on payments. I have a very hard time being stern with people, but I don't know what to do. If I rewrite on my new account, I'm just giving them more money and still in the same trap I've been in for almost a year! I want to be done with them once and for all...but they are so nice, it's making it really, really hard!

Can corporate office help you if your check is not defaulted yet? I'm not sure what to do. I'm so frustrated.

I had a similar experience with Cash Central. They really will discourage you from defaulting because when you do, they must provide the EPP when you request it and they can no longer charge interest or fees. Is some states, if the state law doesn't offer an EPP, and the lender is CFSA, you can request the EPP before you default. If your state law offers an EPP, then you get it after you default.

I had to default with two legal lenders to get an EPP or settlement. It did not go on my credit report, and one lender said I can't get loans with them again (GOOD!). You'll have to pay the $15 NSF Fee, but the rest is just the principal amount.

They will try to talk you out of it, but defaulting may be the only way to get an EPP. Good luck!

That kind of makes sense the way you explained it. Do I just tell them to run the check through and it'll come back on a closed account? Then I can set up payments. Maybe that's why they are being so nice...they want me to keep rewriting and rewriting! Ugh...relentless!! Although, I do have to say they kill you with kindness...just won't do what you want! Lol...

Thank you for taking the time to answer me!

Yep, they are going to get all of the $$ they can. Let it default and then set up the plan. They may not be so nice any more, but they will do it!
