Hello. Looking for help on how to stop ACH payments on payday loans. We got in trouble with them after my husband lost his job last year. He's now working, but we can't get on our feet because of these loan payments. They're killing us. We live in KY. You can only have $500 in payday loans at one time here in KY. One or two loans I have just started paying on (and I intend to pay them what I borrowed from them). The others I have paid what I borrowed, as well as much and much more! I'm lost and just looking for some guidance here. Can I block the payments? Should i close my checking account and start over? On the loans that I just started paying on, should I block them from my account & start an alternate form of payment? Can I get the money back I've overpaid the other places? Sorry...so many questions. Here are the places I owe.....

1. GFG Serv. (this money just appeared in my account and I didn't sign for it...no clue who the company is and can't find any info o them) - $135 coming out each month
2. oneclickcash - borrowed $500, paying $150 per month
3. USFASTCASH - borrowed $400, paying $120 per month
4. Ameriloan - I owe $95 on this loan - been paying on it since August of last year
5. Plain Green - borrowed $800, owe over $2000

How do I know if these places are licensed in my state?

Thanks for any help given.

Ameriloan is not legal in USA. Return all the money GFG has deposited in your account. You can find out the legal companies in your state from Kentucky Office Of Financial Institutions. You're only required to pay the principal amount to the illegal payday loan companies. If you have paid them more than the principal amount, then ask them to return the extra money. If any company is making unauthorized withdrawals from your account, you can ask your bank to put a hard debit check on your account. You can also close the account and make an alternative payment arrangement with your lenders.

Did you get your loan with Plain Green when it was First Bank of Delaware or since it changed to Plain Green?

None of your other lenders are licensed. You only need to repay them the principal balance of the loan (no interest or fees). If you've already done that, you're done. If you've overpaid, ask for a refund.

First step, close your bank account and open a new one.

Follow the advice in this thread.

Okay, I closed my account today and opened a new one. Letters are going out tomorrow.

I got the installment loan from Plain Green. However, I haven't even made one payment towards it yet. I will pay them back the principle that I borrowed. I've read on this website that they are not legal. I've spoken with someone from there and they are saying that they are legal because they do not qualify as a payday loan AND because I signed their contract and thereby agreed to their laws. I know they are lying, but what do I say to them? What makes them illegal?

Again, I'm the original poster of this topic. As far as Plain Green goes........since they are technically not a PayDay loan lender, do I send them the same letter as I've sent to my other PayDay loan lenders?

Just thought I would give a quick update on my situation. (I'm the original poster of this topic.......just finally joined the community). Okay, I closed my bank account and then sent the letter out to all of my payday loan lenders, including Plain Green, on June 28th. I have not received a response from any of them. No phone calls, emails...nothing at all. All of their monthly payments have already been returned due to a closed account. There are 2 of them that I still owe money to in order to pay back the amount I borrowed. Do I hold off on sending money until I hear from them? My payday loan lenders were Ameriloan, USFastCash, OneClickCash, Plain Green, and GFG (which I assume is GreenLight Funding...I didn't authorize any deposit, it just showed up in my account). Anyone else have any input regarding these places? Can I expect to hear anything back from any of them?

Thanks for all of the help here! I feel like I have a ton of money since all of those fees were debited out of my paycheck this month :)
