I took out a loan from cashnetusa for $850.... now the total is $1064 with fees. The due date is this Friday and being that I just lost my job I don't have the money to pay them what they want and I'm going to be forced to default. I have a baby on the way so I won't be getting another job anytime soon. What steps should I take with this company to make this right? The most I can afford to send them as payment is $20 a month. If I'm making small payments can they still sue me? Would it be pointless? And if i'm sued since I don't have a job.... any savings, or own a house (it's only in my husbands name) can they do anything? Will I go to jail? I don't want it to come to all this. I want to make payments, and if I'm in a position where I can pay more I would but it's just not possible at this time. When I took out the loan I was living in Maryland I have since moved to PA if that makes any difference.

Payday loans are not legal in Maryland and PA. So, you only owe the principal amount. Secondly, you can't go to the jail for a debt. So, don't take stress, especially in this health condition. You won't be sued either.

Debts are civil case, not a criminal offense. So you can’t go to jail for that. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. Don’t pay them any interest or fees. Just close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Don’t worry, they can’t sue you because of nonpayment of debt.

cashnetusa is A CSO in MD,and if the debt is still within SOL(which i think it is)they most certainly can be sued in a civil court.so both dittchdebt and the mope above me should know of what they post befor they post it.now i suggest you contact cashnetusa and explain your situation.communication is key as they will work with you,but again communicate with them.
