Still dealing with Zest Cash, now known as Spot Loan. Since they are now tribal, I notified that I had actually overpaid them, and closed bank account. A few months ago I sent a certified letter to Stellar Recovery regarding this loan, and not to contact me, which they havent. Today I received a phone call from Lighthouse Recovery regarding the same loan. I got their address and will send another letter.

Has anyone dealt with these people, and will this mess EVER GO AWAY??? I am so stressed and tired of dealing with this!

lighthouse is a bottomfeeder so treat them as such, but technincally if the loan was under zest cash before they became spoy loans it is legal.that doesn't justify the actions of debt buying bottomfeeders though.to answer your question in time it will go away, but just keep sending C&D letters to anybody trying to collect.

So now I'm confused. I think I remember reading many times before that it is now illegal, even though it was Zest Cash, which sold to Spot Loan?? Are you saying I do owe it? My loan was for $800, I overpaid by around $500.

i didn't say that.the original loan was legal, but since it was taken over by spot loan as long as there was a balance stiil on the original debt then yes you do owe it,but you don't take BS from bottomfeeders.since you overpaid then you pay nothing to anybody that attempts to collect.

When I say overpaid, I mean I paid the principal plus almost $500 in interest. Is that what you mean by "pay nothing"? Sorry, I just don't want to get in some legal drama at some point and be wrong about this. I am just trying to wrap my brain around it all and make sure I am doing the right thing! Thanks for you help...

Did you overpay to Zest or Spot Loan? Seems as if something is missing from this....... Zest was legal and Spot Loan is illegal. I would ignore the calls unless they could provide me with a legal document that I owed this.

Zest Cash was legal until July 2012 when Spot Loan took over, and I stopped paying in October 2012, at which time it was owned by tribal. So I guess it was kind of both. since I had overpaid by $500, it was probably right about the same time I had paid off principal off as when Spot Loan took over. Does that make sense?
