Received a PM from a poster in Texas (see below). I'm hoping other pdl experts on here can help her. I know pdls have to be licensed in TX, and I am aware that the "subject" is a scum bag organization. Can anyone else who's familiar with them give some input for her? Here's her message: (I could not find her original one)

"I posted earlier but haven't received a reply and hope you can help. I live in Texas and took out several payday loans in 2008. When the fees became too much I entered a Debt Consolidation Program (Progressive Debt Relief) that I completed in May of 2010. Today a company called Loan Point USA debited $400 from my account. I got the phone number from the bank and called. The rep said my loan was not paid through program because the do not participate in "third party agreements". I requested their address so I could send a letter to validate the debt but she said that PDL companies are not required to do that. Is she right? I told her I would stop payment on the debit until I could verify that they were not paid under the program. She said I had 48 hours to pay or they would turn it over to their attorney and "drag me to court". I found their address and sent a certified letter today requesting validation and proof they are licensed in Texas. What else should I do? I appreciate any help you can give me."

Thanks, guys and gals.

Have the bank reverse the transaction as unauthorized. You'll need to fill out an affidavit of fraud. Then ask them to close the account and open a new one and be sure the two are in no way linked and that nothing can reopen the old one.
LoanPoint is not licensed in the state of TX. You ned to also file complaints witht he TX OCCC and Attorney General's office.
