I live in California.

I took out a loan with Great Plains Lending in March 2013 for emergency dental work. Like many others, I am struggling to make the payments and its impossible for me to pay off the principle when it keeps increasing by the $100's! I felt like I was suffocating until I found this website. While doing some research, I found that this lender is not legal. I fully intend on paying back the principle balance owed but I had a few questions.

I previously took out a loan with Great Plains Lending in Oct 2012 and paid it back in full. $600 loan-total paid back $1332.74-
$732.74 paid in interest.

On my current loan, I have paid back $293.80 (of the $1000 borrowed).

$732.74 (finance charges old loan) + $293.80 (paid on current loan) = $1026.54.

In my letter to GPL can I reference the old fee's paid and request that my current loan be documented as paid in full?

Also, can this be reported on my credit?

an illegal piece of dirt can do nothing to her retirerment,or SS.so don't worry, and tell her not to worry.no tribal entity can do squat.

So we may be in for a little battle is Plain Green, Great Plains, and Mobiloans decide to ignore the stop of ACH withdrawals. Regions told my mom that is she zeros her acct. puts a hard close on it and they decide on the 16th to try and withdrawal they could reopen the acct and there would be a fee charged to her. The only way to avoid that is to put a stop payment but they charge you 36.00 for each stop payment. Also even if you close your acct. it could still take 30 days to officially close. Any advice. The 3 loans listed above she still owes on principal and has in her letters to pay them by money order. Are the 3 listed above good about listening to your request to stop ACH?

Your bank is full of poop... A hard block on an account marked for deposit only the bank damn sure better not let anything that you have not put in writing with them through or they are liable for payment. Talk to a manager only. Once you revoke ACH authorization and notify your bank - they can't not allow the charges to go through.

Just got a response from Mobiloans. They want her to call. She responded with Thanks for responding and at this time would only be communicating through email. Then attached original letter sent.

Keep us posted on what bank says, and remind them you can always take your account else where..

Just remind mobiloans, should work - how much originally borrowed from them and how much repaid to date?

I revoked ACH with both and they never attempted ACH. On the other hand, MyCashNow tried to do ACH after revocation and I filed a complaint for fraud, got my $$$ back in a couple business days.

"Per your request as of 08/19/13 we have stopped any automatic payment drafts from your checking account; and we have updated your Great Plains account to reflect the same."

"our correspondence has been directed to me for review and I thank you for the opportunity to assist you at this time in connection with your Mobiloans Line of Credit Account (“Account”).

"We understand that all situations are different and would like to offer you the opportunity to pay the remaining principal due on your Account in the amount of $319.00. We propose the following payment plan to coincide with your pay periods as indicated on your Mobiloans application:
06/21/2013 $106.33
07/05/2013 $106.33
07/19/2013 $106.33

it's 09/05/2013 they never did any ACH, nor have I paid them anything yet...they called a couple times...

Good afternoon,

I to got a loan from mobileloans and Great Plains. I had no idea they both charged such high interest rates. I got a $1000 loan from both and just noticed I'm paying nearly $3500 on both for the next year. They also take money out of my account every 2 weeks and with me getting laid off, I got behind. Mobileloans was more willing in giving me time to pay but Great Plains started calling everyday and would not leave a voicemail. I finally answered one day and the guy I talked to was real nervous. The guy I talked to before that didn't have any idea what he was doing. I found this odd and did some looking online and came across all the comments about both. I live in NC and according to this they are illegal. I read the page about how to deal with them and copied some of the letter from the email stating they are not legal in my state and my contract is void, but I was willing to pay back the principal, which is about $500 left to pay on both. I also said do not take any money from back account or it would be blocked. This was Tuesday and I have not heard back from both. I told both to email me. I had a payment on both that was due today but nothing was taken out. Should I be expecting them to contact me back or is everything ok and they won't do anything?

Thank you

Matt

So mom has only heard back from Plain Green Loans. Mobiloans and Great Plains have yet to respond after several emails. Still waiting. So pay nothing until they agree? Even though she still owes some principal on them?

Mom finally heard from Great Plains. They wanted her to make two big monthly payments instead of the small 4 she to them she would pay back. She responded but haven't heard back. I think we are about done with them. Thanks so much everyone for all your help
