I received a call from Global Recovery Systems stating that I need to settle this account with them and that BMG/Sandpoint Capital is the original creditor. I don't remember this and thought that I paid this already. My account was closed for other reasons and I do not currently have a bank account and they want money out of me. I don't know what to do..

You should send a debt validation letter to Global Recovery Systems and ask them to validate the debt. Unless they validate the debt, you shouldn't pay them anything. If they don't validate the debt within the given time period, you should send them a 1 and ask them to not contact you any further.

both places are affiliated and not located in the US.that being said yes i believe you did pay this,but since they have your info they think they can extort more money out of you.first demand something in writing and state you will not speak to them until you get it.hang up without another word.when this slime calls back file a police report using the name of this bottomfeeder,and any numbers you have.then use that info to file an FTC complaint as well.go to www.ftc.gov you can file online.do that and know this bottomfeeder will threaten everything,but do nothing.
